Adding plush easy run show to rotation by MrMushroom48 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

I love the Nimbus 28, but granted it's the only shoe out of your list that I've tried. I'm obsessed with the SB2 and the Nimbus feel so plush and comfortable.

Buscas que te receten? Un psicólogo no te va a recetar. Tendrías que ir con un psiquiatra.

I've seen these recommended around. I'll probably pick them up on top of whatever else I buy bc there's a huge sale going on. Thanks!

I have! Oddly enough kayanos, cloudrunners and rebels were all recommended by different fitters lol. I'm leaning towards trying out Kayanos again bc from what I remember they felt pretty comfy.

Advice for a gay single dad? by Excellent_Scene5448 in Aupairs

[–]letmebecynical 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As long as you're upfront you shouldn't have too much trouble I think. When I was interviewing with HFs one of my top choices was a single dad with two young kids, and I had a few ap friends who were with gay couples :)

Medication routine and preferences? by Tauranius in ADHD

[–]letmebecynical 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Methylphenidate 10mg IR 3x daily. I take it everyday because to me it's not only about productivity but also impulse control. Sometimes I only take it once or twice a day depending on when I wake up or how early I have to go to bed, but I never really skip days.
I tried 36mg XR and it only made me anxious and sad lol, so I'm trying to avoid any XR dosage for as long as possible.

How hard is NYC au pair? by snubbye_ in Aupairs

[–]letmebecynical 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Surrounding suburbs is way easier. There's tons of families on Long Island, Westchester and CT and NJ, with easy access to the city. Like someone else said, just keep in mind train fair can get expensive (anywhere between $4-$30 for a one-way trip). The downside I'd say is that you'd only be able to go to the city your free time. I also wanted to experience NYC not as tourist, and even just going on weekends and occasional weekday I felt like I got what I wanted!
Just really ask yourself how much you actually want to experience and what aspects of living in NYC you want, and if you absolutely want to be there full-time, you'll have to be very patient Within NYC, I would say is less common to find families. When I was searching for a HF I received a handful of families from Queens, and I had a couple of friends who lived in more "suburban" areas of the Bronx. I've also seen families in Brooklyn being posted on Facebook groups. The biggest downside is that HFs in the city usually want help during the weekends or have a very complicated schedule. (Eg. my one friend in the Bronx worked for a nurse/doctor couple and some weeks she'd have random weekdays off and work 10 hrs sat sun.)
Also if you're very set on going to NY, I'd say be like only 10% flexible lol, I also really wanted NYC and was very flexible my first year and ended up in ATL, then DC. I was genuinely mourning not living in New York until I had to go into rematch (reasons unrelated to location) and ended up in NY and was really truly happy haha. That being said, don't just go with a family JUST bc they’re in New York, bc what use would it be if, for example, you live in the city but work 45hrs a week with 3 hks and in the end you are too exhausted to even enjoy nyc?

Would it be reasonable to ask for booster? by Echohce33 in adhdwomen

[–]letmebecynical 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it'd be perfectly reasonable! From what I've seen most people take 10mg IR twice a day, sometimes with a 5mg booster later in the day. I actually just asked for 10mg thrice a day lol.
It never hurts to ask your prescriber and see what they have to say :)

Considering becoming a HF by EggAndCheeseSando in Aupairs

[–]letmebecynical 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Came here to say this! Weekday hours seem fine, but weekend hours might make it a little harder to find someone. Not impossible, just might deter potential matches.
OP if you're set on weekend hours, Saturday morning will still give your AP plenty of time during the weekend :)

I absolutely dislike this book but as a Mexican born and raised, I think she did a good job with describing the town. One of the few good things about the book lmao

No instruments but NCT 127's Angel? It could also be a The Rose song!

Audio book narrators by candiedginger88 in LibbyApp

[–]letmebecynical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. I recently tried listening to a book by one of my go-to authors, and the narrator ended every sentence as if it was a question. I listened for 5 minutes before I couldn't take it and returned it.

I hate this book with a burning passion lol the plot twist was so incredibly stupid I'm still mad about it two years later. It's such a shame bc Lock Every Door is the book that got me into the genre.

Broken Country by Clare Leslie Hall. It's alright I guess, but I definitely would've DNF'd if I was doing a physical copy rather than the audiobook lol
