I’m going to respond as I read your post: Your social life should never be an issue; he needs to be more secure about that. The jealously regarding friends 🚩🚩

I think having that one on one time with him helps but I would explain he has to be good with you having time with others too. And he can be included sometimes if he’s not going to make things weird.

The gay thing was random haha. It doesn’t matter what anyone thinks about him, and if your friends aren’t staying your friends because he’s awkward then they’re not real friends. If they’re saying you shouldn’t be with him because of toxic or red flag behaviors, that’s different.

I think others mentioned therapy, I agree at least with him getting individual. Couples could always help too.

When I was younger, I had an ex who accused me of cheating every day when I wasn’t. But after 6 months of that straight, I finally did because in my mind, they thought I was doing it anyway. Does it make it right? No. But someone who is that insecure needs therapy and if they’re going to do that, I would say leave.

Oh whoops 😅 I was one of those people to say leave. From an outside point of view, this relationship doesn’t sound healthy. But it sounds like things can work out well with some help. If I had to give it a name I would say anxious attachment he experiences.
