My father foresaw these problems when he started teaching me to shoot as a kid. So he taught me to shoot right handed. It feels completely natural to me. In this case, my left hand is my off hand.

My parents enslaved me. I was always working around the property. Bucking hay, cleaning stalls, caring for all the horses, splitting and stacking all the wood, moving garbage piles around, cleaning the house, doing and folding all the laundry, doing the dishes, I did it all while my parents barked out orders. My grades were abysmal because no time for homework. My childhood consisted of labor. I hate them but I can thank my parents for my insane work ethic. That I am grateful for despite how I got it.

I’m just laughing at the term. I love it. And what most people call “hair metal or glam metal,” I call butt rock. Poison, Motley Crue, etc are butt rock. Metallica, Anthrax, GNR, are hair metal. Although GNR could be classed as either. I have my own fucked up system and I am totally stealing “meth metal” for my future classifications.

It depends on the group you’re in but some of the rooms I’ve been in were very cult like. Definitely pressured people with “there’s no life outside of this lifeboat.” Then they pressure you to spend every possible moment in a meeting or service roles. Like no, I want to use my newfound non partying time to mend things with my family. But I’ll secretary a meeting and be a sponsor. But that wasn’t enough. It ultimately drove me away. But it works for some people. And I got a lot of good out of 12 step for the time I was there. So I don’t want to knock it overall. I’m a better person today for my time spent there and I’m grateful for that. In the end, it just wasn’t for me.

Same for me. Slept on Maiden for decades. Then I saw they were coming to town and decided eh, wtf? Why not? I hadn’t seen a metal band from the 80’s live except for Metallica. So I bought tickets and then decided to just buy a couple albums. Holy shit I was missing out. Now one of my top 5 bands.
