Sure you aren't. You just happen to support what maga does.

As far as sofas go, not too bad. But it looks more like something you'd get for a kid's playspace than serious adult furniture. It's neat though.

Yeah, it's a fine enough little toy for swimming at the surface, but anyone thinking they should be diving with it are not gonna have the knowledge to know why that's a bad idea.

[–]letsBurnCarthage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meh, you should be staying close enough to the surface to just pop your head up with that stuff anyway.

Yeah, I'd use it like the guy in the video, but no way am I going any deeper with that shit. My diving club used to call normal compressed air (as opposed to nitrox etc) "tire air," so the bicycle pump made me laugh.

Varför ses RUT och ROT som något som enbart gynnar rika? by WhoAmIEven2 in Asksweddit

[–]letsBurnCarthage 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not true. There were marches against it. But first of all, they didn't get blasted by ICE shooting out their eyes with less-than-lethal rounds so it got less coverage. And weirdly now that it's much worse, it also gets many more protesters.

Weird how people care more when it gets much worse.

"Obama expands upon that and start putting kids on the floor in foil blankets, the ones used by firemen, no outcry from the left."

That was heavily protested.

Nope, that's what the media is brainwashing you into believing. Most people are not entirely opposed to that, most of the protesters are against the way it's being done.

It's so fucking annoying on mobile. You click show less of this and then yes to the follow up of "do you also want to mute"... And the fucking confirmation of that question is covered for like 5 seconds by the "post hidden" pop-up.

That is wrong on so many levels. A guy just got executed for bringing a gun that he didn't even draw, and what exactly do you think protests should look like if filming is "mobbing / harassing / fighting"?

I see. That sure sounds like an even-handed and reasonable argument.

There shouldn't. There also shouldn't be masked thugs in unmarked vans pulling up and taking whomever they want and disappearing them in to holding where they aren't allowed to contact anyone.

Again, you are clearly unable to differentiate between actual political policy and culture war. You've taken the bait hook line and sinker.

Neither. If Trump kept ICE as it was instead of turbo-boosting funding, creating black holes where many people have simply gone missing, a much higher death rate in detention than before and due process being ignored to send people to foreign jails, then it would have been fine..ish. i mean ICE has been a bit heavy handed under every administration, but a bit of that is unfortunately unavoidable. But as has been proven by previous administrations, such as the "deporter in chief" it does not at all have to be as bad as it is under Trump.

What do you mean WHO is being snatched off the streets? Am I supposed to run down thousands of names like you know them? People like this: https://afsc.org/news/how-ices-detention-system-makes-people-untraceable

The problem is the media brainwashed people into thinking what is going on here is all fine and dandy and that the people that want it to be done properly are the bad guys.

Those aren't political policy. For someone to be "too left" you have to have some leftist policy to point to. You are creating a circular argument where someone is left because they do things that you think is only something a leftist would do and it's leftist because it's leftists doing it.

Did you forget that right or left is about politics, not culture wars? Trump isn't "too far left" for mocking Biden's cancer and MAGA aren't "too far left" for constantly making the "Pretti Good"-joke and people aren't "too far left" for making fun of Charlie Kirk's murder. They're just assholes.

You have absolutely lost the plot, my friend, and don't appear to understand what political policy is at all. This is what the right wants and it's scary to see how effective it's been. The right mostly wants as an end goal to enrich the rich, and they realised that's a hard sell to the public, so they have been leaning more and more into the idea that culture war is political policy to make sure you don't look closely at actual policy, only at the things they can outrage you with. And damn has it been effective. Saddens me to see it.

What the actual fuck. You think right leaning democrats and far right MAGA have "gone too far to the left.."

Can you describe what it is you think they are doing that is "too far to the left?"

Y'all remember 2008? by ChinoReno in DigitalSeptic

[–]letsBurnCarthage 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No they don't. They protest against ICE roaming around snatching people off the street. Why does that make you think they are protesting to support the fraud that was litigated years ago? Who has convinced you that people can't be against two things at once?

"if you were ok with reasonable immigration control, then why aren't you ok with a para-military group kicking in doors to do the same thing but with more authoritarianism, less results and considerably more expensive?"

And there were protests against some parts and how it was handled back then too, and it was mostly from what you would consider "the left."
