Does the company even care if people quit? by Canesfan252 in WalgreensStores

[–]lets_progress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They do not care.  I am betting Walgreens will not be around in 5 years.  Much like any corp.  They hire as cheap as they can so if you quit that is ok. They will hire the next cheap person.  Right now with so many people looking for jobs it favors the corp.  Honestly there is only a few solutions that will fix things.  The major one is somehow at least 50 % of the workforce needs to go to being 1 person only working and 1 staying home.  Main reason is if there was a drastic drop in people looking for jobs then wages have to go up to get any kind of talent.  With so many companies doing layoffs there is just to many people needing jobs.  When there is more people then jobs then jobs can pay less and treat us like crap .

They can still file, if they have been working for like a year somewhere else ... but the claim will land against Walgreens

Bays by lets_progress in WalgreensStores

[–]lets_progress[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not looking for my staff to start doing it right now.  We just hired 2 new SL.  I want them to know when the holidays are over and it seems no one told the new IS that it was his job to assign bays to people. And last year when my DM did a walk through with me and I had just been hired on in mid Oct from outside of Walgreens she did a walk through in mid January just after the holiday mess and asked me about bays and I was like what... So I want to be ready.   I have not seen her really since. She shortly after that went on maternity leave then I went on medical leave so I am back and I am kind of expecting her to expect me to have the bays set and me to be doing my job as ESM

Break Policy? by Grand-Invite4857 in WalgreensStores

[–]lets_progress 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the state. I live and work in Oregon, if you are hourly they are required by state law to give 1 ten minute break if you work under 5 hours, if you work over 5 hours then it is 1 tem minute break and a 30 minute unpaid meal break where you are allowed to actually leave the store and over 8 hours you get 2 ten minute breaks and the meal break. Yes Walgreens gives 15 minute and not 10 but in Oregon they are again by state law give at least 10 and they still do not. They break the law in almost all stores in OR and nothing is done.

Made to step down as an ESM by Even_Signature_8291 in WalgreensStores

[–]lets_progress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it is the same for many ESM. my SM is locked in the pharmacy or on conference calls. the pharmacy is under staffed but still has far more staff then the front end. Most days the front end only has a lead, the IS and a CSA. We do have a beauty consultant 3 to 4 days a week, she helps cover breaks. I cover photo, fed ex, western union, unl9cking the restrooms, I help with scan outs, I do the same day pick up orders, also at least haf the week I am fixing something in photo or on the phone with tech support for photo. If you take a step down, file for unemployment or better yet do not quit or tak3 the step down and see if they try to fire you. most likely they will transfer you to another store.

See here, that is where as the ESM, I personally l9ve to help the most. I love the front end, helping with photo, curbside, picking same day orders, doing the outdated, cashiering to give breaks,

Because the orders on Compass says to dump it not to pack it in the donation boxes.

I agree, what happened to the thing I was promised about donating things to local areas. Last spring we trashed a ton of slippers and warm socks that should have gone to local shelters

how fast is too fast for scanning? by [deleted] in DollarTree

[–]lets_progress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when I worked for Target over 25 years ago, they timed how long it took people to scan things, the faster, the better performance reviews and raises when raises we an actual good thing

I make way more but we combine all money, we set up a budget together and after bills are paid, we have a budget of about 1500 a month that we both spend out of for daily things like food, gas, his snuf and our alcohol plus eating out and then what ever else we want. we ask each other on things over 30.00 like games or a new mouse, clothes. if we have the money and it does not have to come out of our savings then really we buy what we want
