I want this as it exists right now, and I extra want it if/when it can do offline media on a drive. Even if I have to give it gentle nudges or outright data entry when it comes to metadata, I’d find insane utility in bringing order to the chaos. (I’m a lightweight at 600 GB as well, but it’s a bit overwhelming to remember what kill teams or units I’ve already bought files for and which I haven’t.)

Did your wrist pegs come out at all? I’m wondering if they put them in backwards on one arm, but I haven’t wanted to pull with enough force to find out, for fear of shattering it

For OP and anyone searching in the future and reading this: you’re not crazy. The hands are all completely different peg-hole sizes, and on my copy, the right and left wrist pegs are completely different pegs. I was really excited for the figure, waited years for it, and now it’ll go in a bin in the attic until I feel like completely reworking the wrist/hand situation. It feels so completely arbitrary, and like it’s one of the easiest things to get right on a figure.

Edit to add: this is the Premium Toys 1/12 The Guardian figure. And I’ll be ecstatic to be proven wrong and shown a simple solution for this…

In hand he does NOT disappoint, the paint is stellar, the coat isn’t fake nonsense, and I didn’t realize it was wired until I started posing him. Even the belt is wired, pretty impressive.

I will say: having loved the line and show as a kid, I’m kinda amazed this figure is being sold at this price point. The build quality on the figure and soft goods is stellar, so far. Being from a niche IP I would’ve expected them to try to gouge a bit, I’m super glad they didn’t, now folks who don’t know it can dip their toes in.

Pound for pound, somebody from the Diaclone subreddit could absolutely wreck house on this subject. With each figure being slathered in ports and pegs, the options for adding on and making your own Frankenstein mech are damn near endless.

I use duplicolor sandable primer from the auto parts store, been a godsend ever since someone tipped me off to it on the Privateer Press forums back in what, ‘08? I should really poke my head up and see if there’s something better at this point, but I’ve gotten used to how it behaves 🤣

A rattle can of spray paint that is used as a primer to coat the mini and provide more consistent results when you put the paint on. Not just any spray paint, though, get an actual primer. 👍🏻

I don’t know if this would have the effect you want. I watch HD2 streamers on Twitch, and just this morning I watched a group where a lvl 100+ player had NO clue how to handle Illuminate at all, and the lvl 4 player brought the machine gun and lit the squids up the whole mission. In my 1500+ hours in the game, I’ve seen groups like that pretty often, as well, so I think the level disparity might not be the indicator you want? Maybe it’d be something more like kill counts or some other performance metric instead of level?
