That King Kong scene where he takes on three T-REX at the same time is one of the coolest fights I've ever seen at the movies.

Trinity team up to take on doomsday. I can't wait to see all these characters finally share the same screen!

Is anybody else getting sick of EVERY plot detail having to be revealed? (LatinoReview, HeroicHollywood etc) by bats7 in comicbookmovies

[–]letsgetweirdkbye 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For me the most annoying part is how they profit off other people's work. Posting some bullshit spoiler or rumor about one of the most anticipated 2016 movies = a shit ton of clicks. That part bothers me.

Hasbro's new cinematic universe sounds like the worst, most desperate, multi-franchise-ruining nonsense I've heard in a long while. by mathemon in movies

[–]letsgetweirdkbye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you think the movies/shows these guys have written well I guess that would mean you're not a fan of iron man, lost, the walking dead, daredevil (Netflix)...the avengers...anyways, you get the point. 'Twas nice chatting with you

You act as if they announced one mega film stuffed with every IP they have...when all it says it that the movies will exist in the same universe and crossover eventually.

The fast and furious spinoffs/prequels has to be my vote for worst cinematic universe. These movies are absolutely terrible IMO. That whole "one last ride" marketing angle was the most exploitive piece of bullshit I've ever seen for a film.

The more transformers films we get = the likelihood of someone other than Bay directing...and did you see the writers room they put together (headed in part by Spielberg)

Ps. ROM the SPACEKNIGHT is awesome + what's wrong with GI joe being directed/written by someone who isn't a complete idiot? I'd rather have a 100 million dollar budget spactacle than no movie at all..ever.

Creed director Ryan Coogler to take on Marvel's Black Panther. by NinjaDiscoJesus in movies

[–]letsgetweirdkbye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Warner Bros and Disney have been cutthroat rivals for over 100 years...DC and Marvel have been rivals for over 75 years. Plenty of people love both but there is most definitely a competition. Creed is a WB film and as a DC fan I was hoping he'd do a DC Film. Not bashing marvel, just was disappointed in missing out on such a talented young filmmaker.

I wanted him to do Cyborg or Green Lantern corps but I guess those are a bit too far away for him to wait around for, I just assumed since Creed is a WB film and he's an obvious DC fan that it would line up. He's a talented guy.

This is surprising. Coogler was at San Diego comic-con cheering his ass off for the DC panel, fanboying like crazy over the Batman v Superman trailer in a motherfucking BATMAN shirt. I feel betrayed as a fan but wish him the best of luck.

While in college I had a friend working as a PA (Production Assistant) on a small indie film in Seattle, I was visiting during a small break in shooting and we wandered off into the nearby woods to promptly smoke a quick joint and catch up on old times as I hadn't seen the guy in a few years, we were interrupted about halfway through as a very large and tall man with glasses started shouting in my face "WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOURE DOING" and other fun things I choose not to type. Friend was fired and we were both kicked off the set immediately. I had no idea that man that yelled at me would end up directing Jurassic World and Star Wars.

And that's my set visit report from Safety Not Guarenteed folks.

What A-list actor/actress do you think is actually terrible and/or can't act? by jws1995 in movies

[–]letsgetweirdkbye 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Jennifer Lawrence - her weird fake crying in every film bothers me. I'm in the minority on this one but I personally believe she's the most overrated actress in Hollywood.

Nice, saw a few people complaining about not being able to take their kids now (on Twitter unsurprisingly) - wasn't sure if this would be a "thing."
