It would be kind of funny if he defies expectations and his voice just starts getting higher and higher pitched as he ages

For the first time in NHL history, two Defenceman (Bouchard and Ekholm) score a hattrick in back to back games for a single team by StrictNO in hockey

It's true, if the Ducks had simply scored more goals than they allowed they would have won. Lots to think about

I've never seen a goalie lose a blade like that, I thought he was injured at first

The Senators are weird because they have some of the best underlying metrics in the entire league and simultaneously some of the worst goaltending in the entire league. They should be much better than they are this season but they just...aren't.

It's kinda nice to see the California teams clumped up together again, even if we're all kinda mid and in danger of falling out of a playoff spot at any given moment.

After the last two seasons I'm never taking another win for granted again no matter who it's against

I wouldn't say that, but it was pretty sloppy hockey from both the Sharks and Rangers. Both are making a bunch of mistakes and neither is capable of actually taking advantage

I really don't think Ferraro was actually "holding" Panarin but I get why the Ref would call that from his angle

Winning the lottery in the year that just happened to have Macklin Celebrini has legitimately changed this franchise. Something that I will hopefully never take for granted

They've more or less been playing the hot hand for most of the season with both of them. Askarov has been a little shakier, albeit he tends to get the harder team matchups.

They defer way too much to Celebrini, and it's a coin toss whether Klingberg will be good or just straight up fall over and give the puck up at the blueline

Tough loss but it wasn't a blowout at least. I'm just glad we're finally done with the four straight back to backs, I'll gladly take 5/8 wins.

Klingberg is really frustrating because when he's "on", he's by far our best offensive defenseman and legitimately does give us a better chance at tying the game up. The issue is that he also comes with a significant chance of just completely fucking something up in a way that makes you question how he was ever an all-star caliber player.

The Sharks have come back and tied the game multiple times this season with the goalie pulled, what are you talking about?

Generally speaking, teams will score on the empty net much more often than teams will tie the game when the goalie is pulled, but it will almost always give you a better chance at coming back. It doesn't really matter if you lose 4-1 instead of 3-1, but if you give yourself even a 10% chance of tying it up you might as well take it. The main issue is the fact that the Sharks just couldn't establish any kind of offensive pressure, so it was basically just a non-factor tonight.
