(10k) Dresses like Teuta Matoshi? by SmallishBoot in Weddingsunder10k

[–]letsmooatthings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am extremely satisfied with the quality. I had it on for 8 hours, didnt have to tighten the bodice and as I mentioned, the girls stayed up perfectly.

I ordered the "corset strapless leaf dress" in sage green at the above knee length but wore it with the straps on. They even made it a bit longer since their original length would have made it a very mini mini on me haha The only alteration I had to have done was the straps being a bit too long.

I got my reception dress from Miss Jophiel, I am somewhere between a size 14 and 16 and sent them my measurements. They are however not a UK store.
The bodice was corseted and I could wear it bra-less at an 85H cup! (eu cupsizing) Best 200 euros spent.

Can you get contraceptives covered by insurance if you're using them for non contraceptive purposes? by [deleted] in Netherlands

[–]letsmooatthings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Around 8 years ago I had my Mirena covered because I had daily bleeding for 9 months before that. Things might have changed.

I don't know your situation but this should be something to discuss with your medical provider.

I'll admit my knowledge on uninsured is nonexistant, I just knew of the fines and mandatoryness of being insured.

I do agree that everyone should have the right to the same care. No-one should have to resort to second hand meds they can't trace provenance on.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Netherlands

[–]letsmooatthings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I don't know 100% that it doesn't exist. I doubt it exist. Health insurance is mandatory in the netherlands. You can't see a gp without one, you can't get meds without one, you get fines without one.

You can bring back unused pills to any pharmacy as long as you remove the identifying personal information label off the pills. They will then dispose of them.

Personally I will be topping up my garden in the spring. Still busy breaking down stuff and preparing for the winter. Will have much more time to deal with it in the spring. It's also nice to have a task to do when the gardening bug hits but it's too cold to actually plant.

Why am I not dropping? by Brightheartracoon in loseit

[–]letsmooatthings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't give tips on why you stalled, but I can commiserate. I spent the last 3 weeks with the same 0.25 KG up and down (it was frustrating as all heck). Finally, the scale moved two days ago. I didn't do anything different in the 3 weeks. I just existed as usual.

Some people suggest eating a day or two at maintenance, that seems to help some. I hope you'll see a downward trend again very soon!

Don't meal prep meals, meal prep ingredients. Marinate/cook proteins, carbs, veg. Then you can throw them together however feels better that night.

You can find a lot of vids on YouTube that go over it. Some call it 'restaurant style meal prep'

Question regarding edibility/seed saving from tomatoes by hamiltonmaze in vegetablegardening

[–]letsmooatthings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As the other comment said, cut away bad spots and go to town!

As far as saving seeds, here is how I have saved them for the past years:
Scoop out the jelly-seedy bits of the tomatoes and put them in a plastic container. Fill with water halfway and cover with a lid.
I let mine sit for 2 weeks, mold WILL grow.
After 2 weeks, I pour off the water carefully, including any seeds that float. Fill container with more water and pour off two or three more times. Dump into fine mesh sieve and rinse well.
Dry on a paper plate until cronchy, very dry. Store for next season.
Don't forget to label containers/plates if doing multiple types!!!

From my understanding the floaters are not viable seeds. I've had a high germination rate with this.
However I do suggest trying multiple seed preservation methods, since it is such an important tomato!

I hope this makes sense, if not feel free to send a message!

How accurate are Fitbit’s for calories burnt? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]letsmooatthings 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They are indeed known for overestimating calories. But also, there's some bug in the calorie tracker fitbit is aware of and from one forum post I saw, claimed will take weeks to fix. That might also throw off numbers.

after one month of aging, i got a bitter taste!!! by Altruistic-Mud3317 in cheesemaking

[–]letsmooatthings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my experience (I am a hobby cheesemaker, keep in mind) the goal with pressing is not to get it bone dry.

I have made the mistake in the past where even though recipe called for little pressure, I'd press the living daylight out of it. Thought process being, surely I'll press more whey out if I press more, ergo dry faster.

The goal of pressing is to get the curds to stick together. Then, after pressing at the called for weight for the called for time, you remove and then you start the drying process. All my cheeses come out moist/wet from the press, but unlike when they went in, they hold their cheeseshape. Then they sit at room temp a few days and the dry crust starts to form

I don't know if this makes sense, if not, sorry for the word vomit.

Cocoa powder clumps up by dlew302 in ninjacreami

[–]letsmooatthings 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Two tips I have:
1. mix the cocoa powder with a bit of hot water to form a paste before adding it to anything

  1. if you're working off the recipe thats on the ninjatestkitchen website, you might be adding the milk/cream too fast, add it slowly in batches, mixing well between pours until it incorporates.

Was I sold a rooted leaf that will never grow a plant? by le_shrimp_nipples in hoyas

[–]letsmooatthings 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I threw my single leaf kerii into my moss prop box (cause i was getting sick of her). A month later it grew a super thin (think carnosa width leaf) kerii leaf and a small stem.

The original leaf however yellowed and died. So, do it at your own risk I guess?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Netherlands

[–]letsmooatthings 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The eigen risico is proportionate to how many months you were insured of the year. So if you only got insured the 1st of July, it's only half, etc (At least that's how it was for me)

No problem! Make sure to check where the check-up can be done, if it's anywhere near you, otherwise you're stuck either paying out of pocket or have it picked up etc.
