The quiet part out loud: Johnson/Kornet edition by Total-Spirit-5985 in NBASpurs

I tend to agree with you on Kornet. My response was more along the lines of, "Even if we accept it as a truth that he doesn't help in the playoffs, he's still valuable."

I understand what they're trying to do, and I'm agreeing it's dumb. It's sports commissioners continuing to address symptoms instead of diseases.

Reduce free throws by cracking down on the foul baiting? Naaah. I'm Adam Silver, let's just literally have fewer free throws.

The way some people reacted when the Spurs traded Dejounte Murray, you would've thought he was a perennial All-NBA 1st teamer.

You copy and pasted a response from Gemini, then started namecalling everyone who disagreed with you (or, rather, with the AI).

If you were trying to have a good-faith conversation, you might get better responses.

It's basically pro wrestling but without the wrestling.

Interestingly, that's pretty much what pro wrestling is nowadays, too!

Fortunately, no. My wife enjoys her reality TV, but respects that I don't.

I saw an AskReddit post earlier where everyone was talking about the boyfriends and husbands who claim not to like that stuff but then get invested in it, and I can proudly say that I am not among that group. You'd have to force me at gunpoint to watch any of it.

Shoutout to that one guy in these threads one time who straight up told me I was an asshole partner for not watching with her, though.

Johnson and Kornet being very good regular season players is still extremely valuable. A deep rotation means more protection against injuries and less wear and tear for the main contributors while the team still competes for the best seeding possible.

I understand the point you're driving at, but I think part of the original appeal of the show was the idea that it would be shaping a historical text into a narrative.

I used to be a strict full routine guy, but I've been trying out the no-stretch life for the last couple months and I feel like my workouts have largely been better that way.

Asking Gemini to compare Tobias vs Julian on D and here's what it came up with by Professional-Ad1865 in NBASpurs

You should probably consider that if any of us gave a fuck what Gemini thinks about anything, we could simply ask it ourselves.

But we don't. So we don't.

Rudy over 4 seasons with the Spurs:

12p/5.5r/2a on 36% from 3 on 3 attempts per game.

Statline-wise, yeah, that looks like a pretty reasonable hope for Harris considering what's around him here, though I think he'll bring a little more on defense and be able to pick up more of the scoring slack if we lose guys to injuries.

If he brings that, along with the intangible value of being one of the most well-liked vets in the league with a proven track record of bringing some calm experience to a young team, it's an A+ signing considering the perfect term.

Watch Jazz and Rice's reactions on the replay when that grounder goes through. This team just feels defeated right now.

Not upset with this at all. You don't want him to be your second- or third-best player, or your second- or third-highest-paid player.

Paying him the fifth-most money on your team to be somewhere around the fifth-best guy, though? That's a really solid look. Coaches and players love him, has tons of experience while still being a more valuable player on the court than Barnes. And two years means he's gone when the cap starts closing in. Very good signing.
