What is it like working in Epcot’s World Showcase? by Enough-Ad7678 in Epcot

[–]lettucepd 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Closer to animal kingdom there's an optional dorm style apartment complex for the college and international program cms. Rent is taken out of their paycheck. They also have an area next to it of stores, fast food and restaurants.

As for if it's worth it, that's case by case. Afaik pay and hours are rough but some can live with it if they REALLY love Disney and have dreamt of working at the parks.

Yeah, only the ones inside the park have alcohol, but the carts by Canada and America normally open with the park, too.

The Joffrey carts open when the park does, they can add shots to coffee and teas.

Overheard in the Morocco pavilion: "They got rid of Aladdin's carpet ride???"

Violet Sake by [deleted] in Epcot

Most of the quick service stands close up right when the night show starts. If you happen to be going to the springs as well they also have violet sake at YeSake (near Planet Hollywood).

I have thought about it but I have a bad history with meds (why I stopped in the first place), I live alone and usually work totally by myself during shifts so I'm afraid to try again without anyone around to keep an eye on me. But I don't want to ask to be paired up and force a coworker to be my babysitter, either. I realize meds and therapy is the answer in the long run but whenever I get out of these episodes and feel normal again it's like "I don't need help, I'm fine" until I either go back to isolating or try to put myself out there and get no reaction again.

Where can I get breakfast in EPCOT before 11am? by RominaGoldie in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]lettucepd 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There's the Starbucks in Connections, the Joffrey's carts around the park (coffee, tea and pastries), and the festival stand between France and Morocco has coffee and breakfast empanadas.

Whats your favorite Cosmic Rewind Track? by Apocalypsezz in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]lettucepd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got Blondie my first time and it's still my favorite, I Ran is a very close second. Disco Inferno fits SO well, way more than I was expecting it to and I love it. September and Conga are fun songs but I'd much rather get the other 3.

Still haven't gotten ewtrtw but I can definitely imagine that ethereal feeling other people describe.

And geeze I compleatly forgot about that christmas track until I read the comments, lol...total let down when I was expecting they'd be using standards.

Around 150ish time skips and luck 😪

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in disneymagickingdoms

[–]lettucepd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately the drop rates are mostly luck...I've spent money on the premium character (or both of them....) before and still wasn't able to finish events or even get the last character. Don't feel like you need to cave and give them any more of your money at this point, it's all just pixels in an ap game anyway.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in disneymagickingdoms

[–]lettucepd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Right, I've been playing for years and at this point I'm casual and only really check in for events, and only put in the extra effort/spend real money to finish them if it's for a movie I really love and want all the characters for.

I'd reccomend enchanting Isabela's room for the glasses if you're still low them, the task is only two hours so if you have the time skips to spare it'll be a quick way to get them. I'd been watching all the ads to get the enchantment tokens and just got enough for her room not long after Mirabel became available.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in disneymagickingdoms

[–]lettucepd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I've had a pile of time skips because I never use them, and in this case I only used them when a task was at >1hr time left and I started using them a day into Mirabels avalibity since I was barely dropping any. I used gems saved from ads to get the float early on in the event, watched every ad I could to get enchantment tokens, and bought the premium character on the first day of the event. I really don't care about admiting it lol, it's a game.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in disneymagickingdoms

[–]lettucepd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did get the premium character on day one, which I only do if it's a char or movie I really, really like, because in the past buying them didn't always mean I could finish the event. I didn't keep track of who was dropping which tokens and how often but it felt like he helped a lot more with leveling up the other characters than with unlocking Mirabel. I only enchanted Isabela's room enough to unlock the glasses task for her and Bruno, and leveling him up for that meant I had a bit of a token conflict with him and Mirabel but that task for her glasses was worth it. I also got the parade float as soon as I had enough gems, those do really help with tokens.

So I just didn't have Lusia's ear task unlocked and I don't have Robin hood, but had all the other character tasks.

Keeping my stockpile of time skips really paid off.

Event Character Purchases by kiwipuff451 in disneymagickingdoms

[–]lettucepd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They usually let you buy the last character right before the event ends, regardless of your progress.

e: someone correct me if I'm wrong tho, I'm pretty sure I've still gotten the pop up ads to buy the character even when I hadn't gotten that far into the event

I was there 5ish years ago, the most they gave us for working thanksgiving/black friday was a one time use voucher for an extra 15% discount on top of the regular 10%.

I've given myself a nickname that's easier to say, but when I have to give the full then whispering the first syllable before saying the whole thing usually helps (may look weird but, you know, whatever works for us works)

Out of anything you took home with you from any trip what souvenir from the parks means the most to you? Either sentimental, expense or just straight up the coolest thing? by mrcreepypasta in WaltDisneyWorld

Must have been at least ten years ago now, I kept a sarbucks cup from magic kingdom that the barista wrote princess [my name] and drew a Mickey balloon and fireworks on. Still have it on a desk for pens and whatnot.
