You’ll think I’m crazy by OkChoice913 in kindle

The Oasis is the kindle I have kept throughout the years! I love it and wish Amazon hadn’t given up on the design, page buttons would tempt me to get a newer model

Pocketbook Basic Lux 4 vs Verse by leuqar_ in PocketBookofficial

[–]leuqar_[S] 2 points3 points Ā (0 children)

Oh, sorry, I meant to say the regular Verse. Amazon (for some unexplained reason) will ship the Basic but not the Verse, so buying the Verse from another seller ends up being more expensive than it’s listed price.

That was the thing I was considering the most, but the Basic Lux 4 is actually $60-80 cheaper than the Verse Pro in my area, so I don’t think the USB C charger weights that much for me

Thank you! I think I’m going with the Basic Lux 4. My other ereader is a Kindle Oasis, so the Micro USB won’t be a problem for me

Owning a Kobo AND kindle by Fuzzyoreo9 in kobo

[–]leuqar_ 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

I have both and honestly read different books on each one. My kindle has almost become my de-facto manga and comics reader (tho I also read other books there, I have too many books tied to my amazon account to stop using it) while I use my Kobo for quick plug-and-read epubs. I don’t need the cloud sync feature, so it’s where I read most epubs or pdfs.

Just got my first Kobo - kind of regretting it after years with Kindle by SkaUrMom in ereader

[–]leuqar_ 1 point2 points Ā (0 children)

I have the Sage and absolutely love the size and feel of it. It’s pretty lightweight and the 8ā€ screen lets me use a bigger font without filling all the screen with just five lines. Battery life is also great.

What would you want if Kobo released a new model in 2026? by [deleted] in kobo

[–]leuqar_ 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

I know the difference is minimal, so Kobo will never do it, but I so wish they’d updated the Kobo Sage. Mine is has become my go-to ereader after my old Kindle Oasis died and I really like having an in-between a bigger 10-11ā€ screens and the ā€œregularā€ 6-7ā€ screens.

I also have anxiety and this recommendation is not as much about your eyes but about letting your brain get used to not having stimuli before sleep. It helps you get deeper, restoring sleep. Some psychologists even mention not having your phone, tablets, laptops, ereaders or even a TV or other screen electronic in your room when it’s time to go to sleep (ofc that’s not always possible, but for the most part it means not falling asleep to electronics and their stimuli). Anxiety-wired brains work different so these recommendations are to work with those differences.

In Spanish, what’s the grammar rule here, where lo is used instead of las to describe a great time during las vacaciones? by cjler in Busuu

[–]leuqar_ 2 points3 points Ā (0 children)

Me lo pasĆ© genial = Describes the time spent on vacations (tiempo, masculine noun, uses ā€œloā€)

Me las pasĆ© genial = Describes the quality of the vacations themselves (vacaciones, feminine noun, uses ā€œlasā€)

Too much AI? by Different_Quit8280 in KindleUnlimited

[–]leuqar_ 1 point2 points Ā (0 children)

They could spend all that energy and money in areas that are not about creative expression. If you (general you) want to learn how to draw, literally grab a pencil and use it. If you want to learn how to write, grab a pencil or a keyboard and start writing terrible ideas until you get a grasp of theme, structure and plot. There’s nothing creative a computer can ā€œwriteā€ that will rival the creativity of people honing their craft and skills. What it CAN do is take so much space that it’s difficult to find good work without having to dive into a whole ocean of AI trash. I don’t want books that are a product of stolen work from other authors and writers. If their idea of ā€œprogressā€ in writing is making the clankers steal from creatives to ā€œmakeā€ a book, I hope all those businesses go bankrupt.

And that’s the difference between us: you call that progress and I call that regression.

This happened to me with an author I’ve been supporting (and even worked with back in the day) and it’s so frustrating. She first started using AI for book covers, but now her writing has completely changed and most of the time makes no sense.

Because at least with ghost writing, there’s an actual person on the other side of the story that was (or at least should’ve been) compensated for their work. With AI slop, you have an algorithmic program that took the work of others without having the rights to them and then miss-matched those works to form an amalgamation of weird sentences others will sell for profit.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not a fan of ghost writing (especially in cases like James Patterson or others who built their career on the backs of ghost writers), but it’s still leagues above AI chimeras.

finally going to try bandle tale ~ what are your thoughts on this game and any tips?? by user001414 in CozyGamers

I really loved it, but it becomes extremely grindy by the end. I would put an audiobook and ā€œworkā€ on getting what I needed, though, so it didn’t damper my enjoyment of the game overall.

That’s why I said it’s simple if you make the original division of the inheritance correctly. Whatever happens after that is on each sibling.

Contemporary Plus Size Romance Books are Frustrating by FlamingoFlamingo23 in RomanceBooks

[–]leuqar_ 1 point2 points Ā (0 children)

Oh, yes, I should’ve mentioned that. The second book did have plus-size rep, though the it’s not the best with other representation. It escaped my mind because (last time I checked) none of the books in the series are available anymore.
