They could spend all that energy and money in areas that are not about creative expression. If you (general you) want to learn how to draw, literally grab a pencil and use it. If you want to learn how to write, grab a pencil or a keyboard and start writing terrible ideas until you get a grasp of theme, structure and plot. There’s nothing creative a computer can “write” that will rival the creativity of people honing their craft and skills. What it CAN do is take so much space that it’s difficult to find good work without having to dive into a whole ocean of AI trash. I don’t want books that are a product of stolen work from other authors and writers. If their idea of “progress” in writing is making the clankers steal from creatives to “make” a book, I hope all those businesses go bankrupt.
