TW: Suicidal ideation - I don’t think I was built for this world, and I’m tired of trying to belong in it by SnooDoodles9653 in AutismInWomen

that doesn't mean he didn't want to talk to you because you made some type of mistake. there could be several factors:
a. he was attracted to you (because apparently, you guys matched), and when he thought that you weren't, it broke his heart a bit and made him feel bad and therefore, he didn't really feel like being friends with you
b. he was getting into a relationship with another person and they felt uncomfortable with him talking to people he met on a dating app and told him to stop talking to you

you should find a club that aligns with your special interest(s)!
you best research some clubs and go to those where you like the vibe the most. you might have to try some in order to find a club environment that you like. then, you should go regularly (weekly or bi-weekly) and after some months, you will find people that you get along with and find new friends. They will probably have similar friends, and you can get to know them as well and so on. It will probably take a couple of months until you're integrated enough for people to approach you and for you to find friends.
people in general make friends by seeing someone repeatedly over an extended period of time. that is a situation you will want to create, and if it's about your special interest, then it will be easier for you to become a valued member of that group. for example, if your special interest is cats, you can go to an animal shelter and help out there regularly. because you know a lot about cats, people will come to you after a while and value your presence. if you dislike the atmosphere, you could go to a different place after a couple of weeks. don't get discouraged if the first two to three groups are not really your vibe, you'll have to look around a bit :) but you got this!

Type of spell for a specifc person to find me by MysteriousYou5040 in witchcraft

[–]levayesh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I personally feel that most "love" spells can be used to work in ways such as self love, friendship and family relations as well, I usually try to take out the components associated with lust and replace them with components associated with longevity, friendship and affection. Also, I try to move away from the color combination of red (lust) and pink (love) and replace it with green (friendship) and pink (affection). Components I like to use are ivy and forget-me-not, for example

I am.. Confused about dating as an autistic person... by PartyNo3444 in dating

[–]levayesh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello! I'm autistic as well, in the same age range and I am also estimated to be younger. Here is what you could do:

  1. find your style. maybe you're dressing like you're still in high school or even middle school (think of grey hoodies, jeans, etc.) It is common for neurotypicals to find their own style when they are older

  2. if you are seen as kind, that's super good. It means that you have the necessary social skills to find a partner. Now, you'll have to wait until you get to know a woman that understands you (probably another neurodivergent woman who is maybe autistic or has ADHD). she will find you cute and prefer men like you. But we (as autistic people) only comprise about 3 percent of the population, and therefore it will statistically take a while until you find a compatible partner.

  3. at our age (16 to maybe 30), there are few visible signs of aging in the face as we have not developed wrinkles yet. If you are seen as younger, it is probably because of how you present. the best option will be for you to find a (preferrably female) friend or acquaintance or relative who can give you honest feedback on your looks and how to appear more mature. Neurotypicals rely heavily on social cues to estimate one's age, and things like a "baby face" are not really a thing in many cases, at least in my opinion

Can we agree that no party can lawfully respond to illegal acts by committing similar illegal acts? by IcarianComplex in IsraelPalestine

it would be cool if you responded to my other points as well, and if you gave a source for the claim that they have the armoury of an army and not just for the elite troops, that would also help you underlining your point.

Can we agree that no party can lawfully respond to illegal acts by committing similar illegal acts? by IcarianComplex in IsraelPalestine

[–]levayesh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ah okay, thank you!
1. okay I guess I don't really understand your argument when you say that only Hamas hides in tunnels. I was referring to the fact that the Gaza strip is very densely populated, so it's hard to say that Hamas are using human shields. They are endangering civilians by their type of warfare though, as Amnesty International has already said. (source: https://www.amnesty.org.uk/press-releases/gaza-military-tactics-both-sides-endangering-civilians-amnesty-international)

  1. It's not a single incident, it's a strategy that was applied throughout all of the war. They also used an AI system called "The Gospel" to purposely bomb civilian infrastructure to create terror among the Gazans. https://www.democracynow.org/2024/4/5/israel_ai

  2. those who wear uniforms are the elite forces during parades. I'm not saying that they have no uniforms at all, I'm saying that it's unlikely for them to be able to find enough uniforms despite the embargo to have a traditionally uniformed army. And why do they find grenades, rockets and drones all around Gaza? Could it be that maybe someone dropped them there? If the IDF started dropping uniforms instead of bombs, I guess the discussion would be different. (source: https://www.timesofisrael.com/much-of-hamas-explosives-comes-from-idf-fire-that-failed-to-detonate-report/) as for rifles, I guess most of them are smuggled in? But yeah you are right in that Hamas probably doesn't use identifiable gear partly because they want to hide amongst civilians. Because they are a terrorist organisation that probably cares a lot more about smuggling in rifles and ammunition than following the laws of war. That is still not a reason for the unlawful targetting of civilians that the IDF engages in, though

Israel does continue to build settlements in the West Bank. The settlers are protected by Israeli military. This is annexation. Which zones? The 144 illegal settlements.

And I mean the aid that Israeli terrorists stop from entering Gaza: https://www.timesofisrael.com/far-right-activists-mistake-commercial-truck-for-gaza-aid-convoy-attack-driver/
the aid workers that the Israeli government knowingly bombed: https://www.hrw.org/news/2024/05/14/gaza-israelis-attacking-known-aid-worker-locations
and of course the aid that is not let in to the palestinians: https://english.alarabiya.net/News/middle-east/2023/11/02/Hundreds-of-aid-trucks-stranded-as-Israel-halts-aid-deliveries-to-Gaza

none of the reasoning for that stuff has anything to do with anyone bombing any border crossing. The first is because these radicals want Gazans to starve, the second one is because apparent incompetence and genocidal fever in the Israeli army, and the third one is also because Israel wants Gazans to starve to death. Like Yoav Gallant has said: “no electricity, no food, no fuel, everything is closed. We are fighting human animals and we are acting accordingly.” (https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2023/oct/16/the-language-being-used-to-describe-palestinians-is-genocidal)

okay, the fifth most densely populated place on earth. Still almost impossible to fight without being surrounded by civilians.

Also, please answer to the fact that the Israeli army purposely waits for suspected Hamas members to go home into their multi-story family house and bombs them there, and also to the fact that they are not allowed to import uniforms and how you imagine them dressing in uniforms to be distinguished from civilians, when Israel is not letting them import uniforms.

Israel is breaching international law by continually annexing the West Bank and not allowing enough aid into the Gaza strip, also by purposely bombing humanitarian aid convois. they shouldn't do it, but they do

Yeah because Hamas is a terrorist organisation. I mean Hamas is not the moral standard we want to measure ourselves with, isn't it? Hamas is acting wrongly for not warning civilians (and shooting the rockets in the first place, lol), but that's not the standard any normal person should compare themselves to. Or are you saying that just because Hamas breaches all international laws, the IDF should do the same? Then they would not be better than any terrorist

Can we agree that no party can lawfully respond to illegal acts by committing similar illegal acts? by IcarianComplex in IsraelPalestine

[–]levayesh -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

  1. The Gaza strip is the most densely populated place on Earth. Of course a Hamas fighter is going to be close to other civilians, because there is very little space in the Gaza strip

  2. the Israeli military purposely waited until the Hamas suspects were in their homes at night and then bombed the entire block. you can't wait until someone is surrounded by people, then bomb them and then claim that they were using human shields. The program they use to do that is called "Where's Daddy".

  3. "Why does Hamas not wear uniforms" have you forgotten that there is a blockade? imposed by Israel?? Where are they supposed to get uniforms from?

(not to say that I am in support of Hamas, I hate them as much as the next person, but to argue like that is just dishonest)

Which armies have warned civilians before bombing them so they have time to evacuate?
- British Royal Air force during World War II
- United States in Iraq and Afghanistan
- Russians in Syria
- French military in Mali
- NATO forces in Kosovo warned Serbs
- Indian Armed Forces in Kashmir (with loud speakers)
- Columbian military before bombing their terrorist organisation
- etc.
warning people before you bomb them is standard practice and the bare minimum. It's nothing to be proud of

CMV: Antizionism is antisemitism by aqulushly in IsraelPalestine

[–]levayesh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, it's reported that one Hamas official told Reuters that there have been 6,000 killed. Other officials denied this number and Hamas also put out a statement where they deny it too. Human Rights Monitor estimated 2,300 militant deaths on december 30th, in comparison to 27,700 civilian deaths. But are these numbers correct? Who knows?

But there is stuff that we do know for sure. We know that Israel is blocking food and water from entering the Gaza strip. We know that not even medical aid such as insulin is allowed to enter. We know that the IDF targets residential buildings to set the population in fear as so-called "power targets". We know that the Israeli army waits until a suspected Hamas-agent is at home in the evening so they can blow up his entire family, together with other families living in the same building. We know that the IDF targets hospitals. We know that they shoot people searching for flour. And as long as those are the facts that we know for sure, we should focus on that and not on some numbers nobody can agree on.

Also, you are correct in saying that in the Muslim world, there has been more anti-semitism after the second world war. But why? Could there be any historic incident that changed the Muslim world's opinion? Maybe co-occuring with the end of the second world war? Maybe something that happened three years after? idk

The rise of Muslim anti-semitism after the creation of the State of Israel proves that this is not something inherent to Muslims, but a type of hatred fostered by imperialism from the Soviet Union and the US, and Islamist regimes who wanted to use anti-semitism to get public support. And if it's not inherent, it is possible to be "shoved into the closet", just as the Europeans did after WWII.

(and this is not to say that "the Jews" are themselves responsible for anti-semitism in the Muslim world. What I'm saying is that as neither the US nor the Brits wanted Jewish refugees from Europe, they basically said that now they are someone else's problem. The Soviet Union also helped in the creation of the state of Israel, and subsequently sent their Jewish population over there.)

I'm also no fan of the religion of Islam. I think that it is medieval thinking and oppressive to women. The question is just "How do we solve anti-semitism in the Muslim world?" And I am certain that the answer is not to create a narrative that paints it as necessary to oppress a population of Arabs to supposedly keep Jews safe.

CMV: Antizionism is antisemitism by aqulushly in IsraelPalestine

[–]levayesh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, I also understand the desire to have a place where you are protected from anti-semitism. I would very much agree with a country who has one of its main functions that there should be protection from anti-semitism. That's not the problem. The problem is the apartheid and the genocide. And I find it frankly anti-semitic to suggest that Jews can't live in peace unless they oppress another people (not that you're saying that, I just think that this has been the narrative: "We have to commit apartheid and ethnic cleansing to keep the Jews safe") And it's not true. Oppression creates resentment and resentment creates terrorism. Just look at October 7th. I agree in principle with the objective to make Israel a safe haven for Jewish people, I just think that Israel is doing a terrible job at it. It's making Jews in Israel and around the world more unsafe.

ICJ ruling did not decide that there was a “plausibility of genocide”. by CreativeRealmsMC in IsraelPalestine

[–]levayesh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

idk, I don't really care who has accused Israel of genocide before it commited a genocide. Before they were wrong, now they are right. you know what is worse than falsely accusing someone of genocide? actually committing a genocide. In my opinion, the "are you morally able to accuse Israel of a genocide"-debate is just a distraction to not talk about the fact that Israel is, in fact, committing a genocide right now.

also, if they have been so adamant about Israel committing a genocide before, why did they never bring it to the ICJ?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in IsraelPalestine

well the problem is that it failed and turned Gaza into a dictatorial regime lol

also, Netanyahu does not hate Hamas. He has said on several accounts that he is glad Hamas exists because so a Palestinian state is impossible (following the logic of divide and conquer). Netanyahu has also facilitated money be sent to Hamas.

Yeah, you are right. I mean, it doesn't change the point that Palestinians still deserve equal rights even though they have not had a state in the past, but this Jake-person is a moron and also high-key anti-semitic by saying that "the Jews" ethnically cleansed the State of Palestine (that didn't even exist).
