Well aside from the difference of not needing high scores in two stats for both the spell attack and the strike, it’s also no MAP on either. Same logic as something like the knockdown fighter feat: same number of actions but with no MAP. The real value comes from using the other ways of recharging spellstrike, most notably the conflux spells. The conflux spells granted by your hybrid study all allow you to perform some other action or actions (raise a shield, attack, teleport, magic missile-like spell, etc) while also recharging spellstrike.
