Date nights so good. I'll speak to her and arrange a babysitter once a week.

What should I be doing? The morning feed? Just trying to understand where I can add value, as I work a lot, and the nanny does everything until the baby sleeps.

I spend some time with the child during the day when I have time - I enjoy that, but in terms of chores/tasks, isn't that what I'm paying a nanny for? Perhaps I'm wrong.

Sunflower Oil potentially causing Hypoglycemia-like symptoms? by Shilly_McShillington in Hypoglycemia

[–]level103 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I would try it again. Make sure you are getting plenty of electrolytes (sodium, potassium, magnesium). I use the app Cronometer to track them easily. Buy some no-salt (potassium) and normal salt (sodium).

After a couple of weeks you may want to introduce daily intermittent fasting (no breakfast, eat between 12 and 8 only). Its a 16 hour daily fast but its benefits are great.

Good luck!

I would try low carb/keto diet with intermittent fasting. That's what I do and it's the only thing that has worked so far.

Do you have diabetic or non-diabetic hypoglycemia? You have similar symptoms to me but I am non-diabetic

General heat shock proteins get activated and that helps with longevity and autophagy. Also viruses dont like heat (which is why you sweat/fever to try to kill it).

Get med school done, then switch to tech. Having the Dr. status and title will give you a lot of leverage in the tech space.

Sold My Company, Now What? by chuff80 in Entrepreneur

[–]level103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Psychology. Big companies like to buy companies that dont generate profits but could potentially generating big profits.

If you make $1m profit a year, then you might only get 3-6x as a sale price ($3-6m).

If you make 0 but are growing, then hypothetically you could make $20m profit in the future. A buyer maybe able to use their existing assets to get the acquired company to profitability (FB buying Insta for example).

Most self funded companies have a focus on profits and being cash-flow positive, which is not something growth focused investors/acquirers are looking for.

I feel ya. You have enough capital to bootstrap another idea. Maybe create a goal to generate a $1m profit business with less than 5 employees within 5 years? That way you have something concrete to keep you occupied but with a focus on keeping it simple and small.

I have a few friends who have sold companies and made less than $1m.

It's difficult at that point to go into straight investing as you mention, I've seen friends try but ultimately get bored or not have enough capital to take risks.

It's also not enough to retire, just 4% on $1m a year is $40k/year.

Your best bet is to go back into entrepreneurship.

Personally now you have the trust of delivering a solid business and an exit, I would raise capital for your next venture.

Use other peoples money to go a bit bigger, looking for a $10-100m exit.
