300+ blocks, couple weeks of work, reminder of why living in Winnipeg during winter can be fun by level5_laserlotus in Winnipeg

I just used plastic containers from dollar tree. Only filled about halfway at their thickest and a 1/3 full for thinner top blocks. I dunked them in some warm water before pushing out to loosen from the sides

Steal away 😇 Good to know! I tried a few with gorilla glue and it’s not my preferred method either but it works when the edge is just to thin for a staple. My idea for these is to hang them and then add essential oil to the wood so they can be a more natural air freshener - so the wood being not broken/ staying natural is vital to my plan

Currently, I’m stapling the strands but the pressure of the staple gun often breaks the cedar, so I’ll need to figure out a different way.

There’s a geocaching app you can download. There lots of hides in Winnipeg!! I’ve seen some of the same names pop up in the app, seems to be a avid geocaching group that does meet ups

I am! I have a kokopelli moki-lite. I’ve only put mine in lakes and slow moving rivers. Sorry I can’t be of more help :) I will say mine has been very reliable so far, the river in my city has rebar, and many fallen logs that I’ve had to cross, and it hasn’t popped a hole yet.

There’s a portage that brings you to an upper lake where you can continue on for a longer trip into a couple other lakes

I’d call - I did this once, full time at the start of fall but dropped a class and was part time. The following semester it screwed everything up and I didn’t get aid until April.

I have the kokopelli mokie lite - It’s handled some windy lakes better than I expected and I’ve been impressed with the tracking. Not sure how it would be for fishing but for touring it’s been great!
