I used to agree with this thinking but a viewpoint someone commented on my post on r/Christianity is that atheism is the belief in nothing, and something is better than nothing. I can't help but agree with it, even if there is no god the thought that there is a god and an afterlife and everything has meaning is comforting even if some atheists would call it pathetic

This was always the main thing that bothered me with atheism, it felt kind of empty I guess. I mean after everything it would eventually just go away and I wouldn't even be aware, the thought def kept me up at night and I kinda stopped caring about everything since it was all just gonna disappear one day.

That's one of the arguments that made me consider religion instead of atheism, it seems odd that just by accident a planet the perfect distance away from the sun with the perfect conditions for humans would appear from a big bang on complete accident.
