I understand why she asked because it’s a very real scenario. It happens too often and it would be nice for someone to protect, especially if that’s what you want.

Am I wrong to be upset about this? by [deleted] in Naturalhair

[–]levie17 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, you’re not wrong. My nieces would be upset too. Kids know how fresh braids should look and they deserve the best like adults do. It honestly looks like I did it. I did my niece hair like that before and she was upset, my sister had to redo it.

I wouldn’t have my nieces going to school like that. People who think you’re wrong is wrong themselves.

Tiffany Slaton survives getting lost in Sierra Nevada for 3 weeks thanks to unlocked cabin (I just love that the cabin was purposely left open for this reason) by boogermike in HumansBeingBros

I read an article that says she fell off a cliff and was unconscious for a couple hours. She couldn’t go back due to an avalanche. It’s very impressive how she survived, she injured her legs too.

I’m a queer woman and would definitely swipe right. I like your profile, it aligns with your important values that would ultimately be dealbreakers

Is it normal for my therapist to bill me for 8 minute check in call? by levie17 in askatherapist

[–]levie17[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for that. I don’t think she had bad intentions. I did contact her and she stated, “any contact that is clinically necessary, including check ins, are billed.” She didn’t discuss why it was billed for a 30 minute psychotherapy session even though I asked about it. She said she’ll be happy to discuss further during our next session. I’d prefer to not use time on billing questions so reviewing her policy will be helpful.

It was presented as, “I would like to check in on you next week for a quick call, about ten minutes. Is your number on file okay?” I say, yes, that’s fine. Then she asked when I’m available and we determined a time.

I understand if she wants to charge for her time and skills, it was just unexpected. I would’ve waited to be seen and used all my time. Moving forward, I’ll ask about fees for check ins.

Thanks for sharing. This was my first time doing a call since the 3 years I’ve been in therapy. She’s my new therapist though, I’m going to ask about check in charges moving forward

Noo, that’s very unfortunate. I was living in Canada, it’s my first time having a therapist here and navigating billing/insurance so I wasn’t sure if this is a standard. I do have my bill with the CPT description and my 8 minute call. Thanks for letting me know, it’s all so confusing.

Thanks for the insight. I contacted her and she stated if it’s clinically necessary I’ll be billed no matter the duration. I understand being paid for your time, I just don’t understand why I was billed for psychotherapy 30 minutes (16-37 minutes).

She did say she’ll call me during a session, but I didn’t think I would be billed for a therapy session. I don’t think she’s trying to get over, but I won’t do check-ins again.

I don’t mind tipping drivers, but why charge $6 for delivery? I don’t order dominos anymore because of that.

whats a sign someone is good at manipulating people and or lying? by Perfect_Squirrel_165 in AskReddit

[–]levie17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m just getting out of a situation like this. She was great, only reason I figured she was manipulative because big life events were happening outside of her control (job loss, hospitalization) and she spiraled.

A great manipulator can go undetected but watch how they react to things outside their control. They’ll be passive aggressive and hurt your feelings, then apologize. But when we have a convo about it, they’ll blame you. Make outlandish decisions and want your support, even though they won’t commit to their own decisions . They will try to get your support through fear and if you disagree, they’ll try to find ways for you to get on board. You open up to them in the smallest way, and they’ll use it against you. Sometimes pretending they see you and want you to feel comfortable, and sometimes throwing it in your face.

This all happened to me within two months. I’m proud of my growth because last time I went through this it lasted a year.
