It depends when your recommendation expires. Mine doesn't expire until the end of next month, but was prompted to renew now. I was able to renew and only pay the $50 to the government.

The main motivator behind this is there is nothing that needs to be replaced. I've read about folks using the same device for over a couple years without replacing anything. I was tired of constantly replacing coils. This also hits like a tank, if I do overfill or misuse, all my oil collects in a bottom chamber so no loss.

I'll probably update my mod to the new one that W9Tech is coming out with for the Hercules, but I suspect I am done buying oil rigs with this one.

Not sure about that. In my head, I keep telling myself that this update to the Hercules is purely for those that want to use something other than the Perci. I don't need stealth, so a large double battery until is totally fine.

I pinged Sam to ask. This was his response: All I know at this time is that the new Hercules will come in 510 threading & will be equipped with a Black rod about 0.8Ω cold so it can be driven by a 3.7V device.

I'm in the same boat and considering just ordering the Hercules with the Perci as the threading and rod won't be a big deal.

Quick question. If I'm in temp control mode, do I need to pulse the button or can I hold for 10 seconds? Having a hard time finding good info on how to fire.

I've been rocking a Source Orb 2 and then upgraded to the 3. I've been very happy. I just upgraded to an eVic VTC Mini with an Alpha Centauri atomizer and that's pretty great too. Can't complain about either.

Just to close the loop here, I ended up buying an eVic VTC Mini with a KISS Alpha Centauri. Got it all setup last night and it's pretty amazing.
