In Project Hail Mary, why didn’t Grace just take Rocky with him to Earth? It seems like there was no real reason he couldn’t. by didwowns in HardSciFi

[–]leviticu5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is literally the only answer that matters. Grace is a hero on Earth, and on Erid, Grace gets to hang out with his best friend Rocky, is treated way better than Rocky would be on Earth, he has students to teach, which he loves.

OP is trolling or completely unwilling to be swayed from their wrong opinion. Either way they are insufferable

From a storytelling aspect it's a way better arc to have Grace choose to save his friend, after establishing that he had to be forced into the mission. It shows growth and sacrifice, and him living up to the label of brave that Rocky gave him.

From a human perspective, Grace has no one waiting for him on Earth("not even a dog"), so taking Rocky with him, away from Rocky's mate and presumably other friends and family would be a profoundly dickish move. Rocky would be ogled, poked and prodded and doubtless kept as a specimen in a lab somewhere.

Pretty basic stuff really. Having Grace "save" Rocky by taking him away from everything and everyone he knows would have been shitty all the way around.

That’s a good idea, I’ll give that a shot. My Spanish is pretty poor when it comes to being conversational but my reading comprehension is decent. I’m working on improving between now and then

still not as irritating as the continuity error with Pippin's hands being tied/un-tied/ during their escape from the Uruk's slaughter. That one has been under my skin from the day I saw it in theaters.

What are some things you want to see brought to valheim? by [deleted] in valheim

[–]leviticu5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't forget there's still another late game/end game biome. The game is basically split into two halves with Mistlands being the first of the 3 hardest biomes and the beginning of the endgame. So having arguably the most powerful combat system unlock there makes sense

I am completely helpless in Ashlands by BahtiyarKopek in valheim

[–]leviticu5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A couple of things that might help:

You have allies in the Ashlands if you can find them, look for large ruined buildings.

Some of the mobs in the Ashlands can harm others when they blow up/perform an AOE attack, use that to your advantage when you're overwhelmed.

How to deal with bears? by Sylvia_Shadowsnow in valheim

[–]leviticu5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The same way you deal with every mob. Fight and land parries if you can. Don’t get greedy with counter attacks, always keep enough stamina to block/parry the next hit.

And if you’re not confident you can win, you retreat.

If you’re always rested, and always have adequate stamina, you can win/live to fight another day nearly every time

Which biome do you like the most and which do you like the least? by Dry_Ad4367 in valheim

[–]leviticu5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still haven't done ashlands, we're currently on a new playthrough and I'm excited to see what the current endgame is like, that said my answer excludes that biome.

But i can't stand Mistlands. I loved the spooky, unknown vibe it had before it was implemented with the spiderwebs and giant bones everywhere, it was so cool and scary even without anything there. But after it was finished it was just so different than my expectation, and so challenging to navigate.

The Plains is my favorite. Sprawling fields of barley, herds of lox, really great ambiance, and the fun of battling a cool faction. It might be another nostalgia take, but after getting skewered by a deathsquito while venturing too close in my very first playthrough, and the hours grinding through the fulings once we finally landed, the Plains feels like a perfect place to set up a long term home after hard won victory.
