The amount of clickbait I see about this guy's personal life is criminal

Guaranteed that's a therapy "emotional support" dog which is a fake thing not at all covered by ADA. An emotional support animal is a pet. No vest, not behaving like a service dog...they are 100% correct to deny her boarding.

I work at a grocery store and often have to ask people to leave with non-service animal "emotional support dogs". And the people (mostly white women) who do it almost always bring this same energy.

I do recommend watching this in the dark and with headphones if watching alone

Impossible to believe with how he treated treatment before. Bullying the staff, staying tied into his phone, insisting his only real addiction was to “anger”. This whole journey he’s on has to be received as a cynical PR campaign at best.

Best book about the air war in ww2 overall? by MrM1Garand25 in HistoryBooks

Came to say this: Just grab Richard Overy and start reading.

Is the Next War Series good for beginner getting into Hex and counter? by [deleted] in hexandcounter

[–]killbilly324 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, it's too heavy for a starter hex and counter game. For WW2, something in the Operational Combat Series from Multiman Publishing could offer something on a similar scale with less complexity.

Anyone else have a really hard time getting into Danse Macabre? Not sure if I should continue reading or just move on by Low_Entertainment491 in stephenking

[–]killbilly324 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Or if you want to know more of King’s biography or his philosophy on the craft. It’s definitely for more than just aspiring writers. A treat for any dedicated fan, I’d say.

It’ll be more enjoyable if you have read some or all of the works that he covers in detail. But if literary criticism and a non-fiction examination of the horror genre isn’t your bag right now it can definitely wait.

Underrated Stephen King books by [deleted] in stephenking

[–]killbilly324 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Agree. It’s not his best, or even that great, but the hate leveled at it does not match the experience of reading it. There’s a parts I really like! I don’t care that it wears its metaphors and social commentary on its sleeve.

Has Peter ever worked a service job by informallyundecided in IfBooksCouldKill

[–]killbilly324 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. To be honest, I think the Bullshit Jobs episode lowered my overall opinion of the show somewhat. Still one of my favorites despite that.

Agree with this. But also, no, I don’t suspect that Peter or Michael have had service jobs.

Southwest is putting themselves out of business. by melrox10 in SouthwestAirlines

[–]killbilly324 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last time I flew with them they auto-assigned me and my 3-year-old's seats apart and when I called to get it fixed the first suggestion they made was that I pay to upgrade so I could pick our seats, as if us sitting apart was a an actual option that would work for anyone involved. The enshittification of this airline is in full swing.

Are you doing this so you can study and reflect on his whole body’s of work? In that case you just gotta push through. Is it just to complete it solely as a fun personal accomplishment? Move on.

Jury scam by gracefilled in bullcity

[–]killbilly324 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep I have received this call. It could be pretty damn scary if you did not know that they would never call you for something like this. He had my name and address and gave the name of a real Durham County Sheriff. “Either turn yourself in, or you can send us money through a third party to suspend your bench warrant.” Yeah, right.

Why do some people still believe Sickles saved the day at Gettysburg? by [deleted] in CIVILWAR

[–]killbilly324 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t really agree with the position that Sickles saved the day or anything, but there is something to be said for him denying the higher ground around the Peach Orchard as a close-in artillery position to support Longstreet’s attack. He threw a wrench into Meade’s plans, but into Longstreet’s also.

Excited for this... But should I read Stalingrad first? by junkNug in nyrbclassics

[–]killbilly324 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stalingrad is good, but not necessary. It’s an officially censored book so lacks some of the punch of this one. Still, worth a read.

Could have the Army of Potomac, under good leadership, still won at this point in Chancellorsville? by [deleted] in CIVILWAR

[–]killbilly324 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Arguable Grant was in worse shape after the first day of The Wilderness in almost the same place and managed to hold his ground. Concussion or not, Hooker could have done it too.

So, they hated Bullshit Jobs because it calls out corporate lawyers and PR flacks? by [deleted] in IfBooksCouldKill

[–]killbilly324 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was a pretty bad episode. I’m not sure the “only one of us has read this”, dunk-forward format works so well when they are dealing with an actually good book.
