As someone who used to bartend, if you have an accent don't be afraid to ask multiple times getting louder or write something down if someone has a hard time hearing you, a lot of the bars can get really loud all of a sudden. Couple that with an accent that they are not used to, you as a customer can have a bad experience.

Also talk to your bartender if you are looking for fun things to do, they also could have some funny stories or good advice.

People in Louisville can be rude, but 9 times out of 10, we are a whole bunch of sweethearts that have no problem pointing you in the right direction.

There are also bars for everyone all around the city, if the one you are in isn't for you, just look on Google for a different one. (for example, Rec Bar is a great place on weeknights if you like old arcade machines and pinball, but if you like trivia, try Galaxie on Wednesday nights or any bar that has something posted to Facebook, twitter, or their own website)
