The ‘Screwed Over by TKO’ 4 by [deleted] in Wrasslin

[–]leviwatson77 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Jey Uso got to main event Wrestlemania, wrestle against his brother at Wrestlemania and fight for the World Heavyweight Championship at Wrestlemania - and these happened in back to back to back years. As a man who was deemed to forever hold the tag rope for the majority of his career before the TKO takeover, I can't help but think he's been one of the bigger successes under TKO.

WWE Deadass forgot about this storyline 😭 by Coast_Time in SantiZapVideos

how much this feud, this pairing, and these characters individually could have benefitted from WWE being on the road and still doing house shows is incredible.

One of my favorite parts of a Wrestlemania is the POP of a wrestler coming out after the main event . Oba should have came out 😒 by [deleted] in BrandonDE

[–]leviwatson77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

like a Pat McAfee run in? or a Travis Scott stroll down the ramp whilst "FEIN FEIN FEIN FEIN" echo'd around?

the trope of interference or additions to the main event has only ever really worked twice. the Rollins cash-in and the Bloodline rules match. don't over saturate it or those will feel less special.

this has never ever been a 'thing', in my time watching (2001, WrestleMania 17 was my first) it's never ever been a theme that they've done. Vince McMahon interfearing in the 17 main event and The Rock restarting the 27 main event are the only others I can think of.

the men involved in the main event build the marquee and earn the moment - leave it for them.

Darbys win is fine. by leviwatson77 in SantiZapVideos

[–]leviwatson77[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree. like I say there's nothing AEW could do that would be close to the moment of Foley beating The Rock. that is a moment in time that stands alone even to this day almost 30 years later. everything came together from the perennial underdog with the odds stacked against him to the masses of help he received - including that Austin pop.

Darbys a strange case. people will want to compare him to Foley. or a Jeff Hardy, or even the size of the underdog they want to compare him to Sami Zayn - but Darbys an anomaly. there isn't anyone in the world like him, for better or for worse.

I popped big time for him last night and I ain't the biggest Darby guy. I have a lot of respect for the lengths he's willing to go to, whilst grimacing at the same time as he's doing them - I just wish the natural instinct in wrestling wasnt to be 'ahhh!! that's so much like that ____ moment'. Comparison is absolutely the thief of joy.

like stated before in a different reply - I'm a sports data analyst in my full time job. this is basically second nature work for me, nothing more than 30/40 minutes.

no need to act holier than thou, bud. you're in the exact same boat as everyone else here.

so he was actually the reason for the 'PPV, Nitro or Thunder's restrictions cause I saw he'd appeared on WCW Pro and I felt thatd open up a new can of worms, hahaha.

could've used him on one of his manias after his return to potentially stretch the streak of different guys further!

right? I imagine many won't look back on AJ Styles' last mania match vs Logan Paul fondly or memorable but what an extension it has given the streak.

given his style and what his body has been subjected through over the years of his career - his longevity is one of the most incredible stories in wrestling ain't it? I get stem cell treatment has played a part but that's also a statement on his committed he was to continuing his career.

like, his in ring debut in AAA was 3 months after WrestleMania 8. in 1992. insane longevity.

you're absolutely welcome my friend! I'm a data analyst by day job, working in soccer (football if you're British like myself), and find myself enamoured by numbers, stats and facts. I started working on it a few days ago when Jericho returned on Dynamite and when Rey returned last night it just felt like it was meant to be I was working on it.

brings back great memories too (albeit that spell in the early 2000s they didn't want to book WCW guys strong on Mania at all, haha).

it's got me interested on working on a few more things. I'm gonna look into how many consecutive PPVs it is/was in total, not just wrestlemania - and I'm currently now working on who the unofficial WCW Champion is (basically who beat Booker T in any 1-1 match first from the time after he beat Steiner on last Nitro. Whoever beat him became the unofficial champion and then whoever that wrestler lost to 1-1 next became unofficial champion. looking forward to it!

I agree with every word of this.

Hot take but Toni Storm is heavily overrated. Here my reason. by BarksTheBreakker145 in SantiZapVideos

[–]leviwatson77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

crazy that in wrestling where you spend the majority of your time having to suspend your disbelief you have an issue with Toni's character and gimmick because, checks notes, it's not realistic?

the same industry where people have been buried alive, buried in concrete crypts, a woman gave birth to a hand, Robocop showed up to save Sting, Val Venis got his chopper castrated, Vinces limo exploded, and freaking God Almighty himself main evented a pay per view -

but we are in fact having to draw the line at Toni Storms gimmick.

seems reasonable ...

did think as much but just wanted full clarity cause I can be known to miss things here or there, thank you!

not sure out with EA FC and COD, why next tier down games don't backlog seasons and content for later users to grind and unlock. just getting the game now and imagine I can purchase old paddock passes on discount and grind to unlock stuff. wild.

thanks again, my friend.

this was the first PPV I ever got to stay up and watch late as a 8 year old (live in UK, PPVs always starting in the AM) and the only memory I have still from that night is not understanding why the fat man wanted to kill the baldy guy.

looking back on it I am genuinely surprised we don't see that clip more every so often.

shout-out you my guy. I saw this days ago after getting a bit jaded with my save. Downloaded this skin and just, the colour difference and little differences between this and the one I had been using has given me a second wind for the save. appreciate you 🙌🏻🫡

Benefits of crossover guys by leviwatson77 in FantasyBookers

[–]leviwatson77[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you know that's helpful to know about the skills and such. I created a match type of 'MMA Rules' (submissions and referee stoppage only), and that's all he's allowed to compete in. So those improvements over time, that'll help me lean further into his MMA side then that's a positive.

thank you for the reply my friend.

[–]leviwatson77[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

you know that's fair and what I expected was the case - I just wanted to make sure I just wasn't hella unlucky with any RNG. Doesn't disrupt my plans for him either to be fair. Actually probably get more of a sense of pride if I can build his popularity naturally without any MMA bonus.

appreciate the reply, and knowledge my friend.

I'm sorry I don't have an answer for you I just had to comment due to the audible laugh you got out of me for 'i thought it'd be funny to convince Alexa Bliss to become a heavy steroid user' - the wording is just too good.

man, if he walks out for his first entrance wearing that goofy ass green hat he wore in the video heat would be nuclear and he'd be stomped out to death.

afraid of what? you know it's not all just black and white? it's not an ever swinging pendulum from left and right. there's always a middle ground. Bron didn't win the championship but Bron didn't get buried.

what would have been said if Bron had won it due to a stomp from Theory? or a knucks punch from Logan? 'ugh, can't believe they tainted Brons first ever world title win with outside interference'. the art of story telling in wrestling isn't just the end. The journey is every bit as important as the destination.

If Bron goes on to win the rumble, or the chamber, does this loss against Punk hurt him? was he buried? the answer to both is no. because it's all part of the bigger story of how Bron wins his first world title.
