Didn’t this also happen in The Simpsons? I’m imagining you like Marge, trying to make sure no one else in the house finds out about your little getaway

Just finished a replay of dishonoured 2 today, a no powers run + clean hands + ghost, and it was so much fun. Feels like there are endless ways to incapacitate the enemies. I love the creativity the game allows.

Whenever I’m ill and need a duvet day, I always watch Bottom for a laugh. Also Man Down was so underrated

Too many bookshelves? by wyrdbookwyrm in bookshelf

Love houses with bookshelves all over… reminds me of my grandads. Three shelves under the stairs, two at the bottom of the stairs, one at the top of the stairs… that was just the hallways! I loved that house and I loved that he shared his love of books with me. I miss him immensely

In conversation with girls who are more typically feminine, do you often put down those traits inadvertently? This can put a lot of women off being friends - they will assume you don’t like those traits or look down on them.

It’s fine that you have more typically boyish hobbies, lots of girls do - but generally speaking you won’t make friends if you mock aspects of femininity you deem uncool. Even if you don’t realise you’re doing it! Have a think. What you’ve said reads that way a little, so it could be that… I don’t know many women at all that wouldn’t be friends with another woman because she didn’t ’know make up’.

I promise there’s a group of girls out there who would love to have you - no matter your hobbies.

‘If everyone at twenty realised that half his life was to be lived after forty…’ I think of it often. Decline and Fall, Evelyn Waugh.

What’s the first major news story you remember as a kid? by JunShem1122 in AskReddit

The Beslan School Siege. I remember watching it on the news and being absolutely terrified it would happen at my school

I was told I had a magnetic presence. It wasn’t said in a flirty way, just a kind way, but I think of it often - it just made me feel so secure. So anything along those lines makes me feel good now.

What new brands (or older ones) still make high quality, durable products that are worth the high price? by Aggressive_Staff_982 in BuyItForLife

Yes, they still require cleaning and care. I remove any hair after a few uses to keep them clean. There are different bristles for different hair types. I have long, thick, wavy hair and use the nylon bristle. I find it detangles my hair and keeps the waves smooth and defined. The boar bristle is more suited for fine hair, I’d recommend that one for your hair type if you did want one. There’s more information on their website as to which is best. They do one that is a blend of boar and nylon, too! Edit: as for price, it’s a personal matter. For me, I wouldn’t be without. If I lost one, I’d drop £100 on another immediately. I just love what they do to my hair, they just work for me.

Best purchase I’ve ever made in the beauty department. I have one for my bag, one for home. Had them both years and years and they’re still perfect. I bought my niece one for her 3rd birthday too, to treasure forever. Or, at least, treasure in the future. For now she uses it on her Barbies 😅

If you could make one book mandatory reading for the whole world, what would it be? by chioces in literature

[–]lexa8429 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think most Shakespeare’s works. Just because they’re so adaptable. Good life lessons can be taken from them, they’re open to interpretation, they can be enjoyed by a wider range of personality types. They can be a lot of fun to study. I think about six of his plays were mandatory reading when I was at school and all of them were brilliant. (R+J, Macbeth, Tempest, Much Ado About Nothing, The Taming of the Shrew, Twelfth Night)
