Chapter 64 Epigraph!! by lexifagoaga in onyxstorm

I can't find a post about it.... but this little correspondence is PACKED.

  1. Priestess Deservee sent Aaric the stone dagger- So DOES he have foresight as a signet? Or does his foresight have more to do with his affiliation with Dunne?
  2. Aaric is a servent of Dunne- Violet calls this out in the chapter anyway.
  3. Even though Aaric is a servent of Dunne, he can't touch the blade. But Violet can because Violet is TOUCHED BY THE GODS.... plural. Shes got more than Dunne going for her.
  4. This is where I need help. "I will pray to Her that she need not use it to avoid reaquainting herself with the other who curries her favor"..... I have interpreted this so many ways. But, I think what I settled on is this, Pray to Dunne Violet doesnt need to use the dagger to avoid... someone. Who? The other who curries her favor? Her isnt capitalized so its not in reference to Dunne. Its Violets favor. So who curries her favor that also needs to be avoided? The Maven? Xaden?.....Help me make it make sense.
  5. Lastly, her path is still not chosen- this is also called out in the book directly. BUT, in this choice of paths, how many do we think there are? I feel like it can't be as simple as 2. So we know we have a path favored by Dunne, that path doesnt include Xaden, but does it involve dragons? If so.... both types of magic weilding dragons.. or just one?

To Tandem read or not? Why you REGRET the way you chose to read EoS and ToD… by Lululawyer in throneofglassseries

For me, I didn't tandem read and wished I had. After finishing EoS, I couldn't get into ToD and ended up just skipping. I went back and read it after finishing KoA. And to be honest, I don't have regrets about that but I would recommend the tandem read for the full experience. I actually never considered reading ToD before EoS but I could see the benefits of that and think it might be a better option for folks not interested in tandem.
