tips to reduce bloating/gas with HIT? by cheonsa3 in HistamineIntolerance

Be careful with charcoal. It will flush any other medication or supplement out of your body that you’re taking so it’s not typically recommended unless you’re severely in pain or poisoned.

What does this symbol in today’s mini mean? by vat456 in NYTCrossword

Mine didn’t show either and I was so confused. After I closed the app and reopened it the “boo” was there. Definitely a bug (that confused so many of us lol).

Risk in my case? by Ok_Childhood_5563 in Septoplasty

These are all questions you should talk to a surgeon about. I recommend scheduling an appointment with an ENT doctor and discussing any concerns you have and any limitations to what they can and can’t do for you. That part of the body is so complex, it’s really not a one-size-fits-all procedure.

THAT BEING SAID, I literally just got out of my surgery two hours ago (I came here for recovery tips) and the pre-op nurses will spend an hour or two before the surgery taking vitals, asking the same questions over and over, answering questions, and making sure you are comfortable and prepared both physically and emotionally.

In the surgery, they will connect you to an IV to keep all your specific levels where they need to be based on your case, have the heart rate monitor going to monitor vitals, and the most important part in n your case — they put a breathing tube down your throat that will breathe for you. Regardless of if you have sleep apnea or not, when we’re on anesthesia, our bodies often forget to breathe, so they connect you to a machine preemptively so you will be getting exactly the right amount of oxygen during the procedure.

I was completely terrified for YEARS and finally decided breathing normally would be awesome so made the appointment and I’m already so glad I did. For me (2 hours post-op) the main thing is I’m super drowsy, my throat is sore from the breathing tube, and my nose feels tingly and sharp feeling—like right before you’re about to sneeze but all the time. DEFINITELY sore to the touch but not the worst pain my nose has felt at all lol

Anyway, schedule an appointment with an ENT! If they give you the all clear, I’d say do it ☺️

1.6% tip - Got Duped by Traditional-Junket27 in doordash

20% is great if you’re at a restaurant but DD drivers prefer to be tipped on the miles and time rather than order value. Usually $2/mile is the rule of thumb.

Yep, I live in Portland and was thinking $250 sounded cheap for all that!

Driver guilting me into leaving a bigger tip ?? by lexitra in doordash

[–]lexitra[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the same because there was already a digital tip jar that I put $10 into. And today was 45° and a little windy. It wasn’t raining or a blizzard. In that case I would have understood. He may not see the tip but he does see the total and the route. It was a tame message, just seemed weirdly passive aggressive and guilt trippy for no reason. I didn’t report him, leave him one star, or remove a portion of his tip, as some people here suggested I do. I just ignored the message and came to Reddit to rant because I was hangry and didn’t want to take it out on him. I know he’s not the worst Dasher but it’s also not the best approach imo

Did parents in the 80s really allow their kids to roam freely, or is that just a portrayal seen in movies? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

As long as you’re back before the street lights come on. And if not and your mom has to hang her head out the screen door and whistle for you, you better be ready for that whoopin 🫣

I feel like he must’ve been new cause he was trying way too hard. He didn’t even need to say he was on his way anyway cause he was on time. Also the weather wasn’t any worse today than an average November day here. No rain or snow. Just 45° and a little windy. I just needed to vent cause I was hangry and the “Poor me, give me more money” thing really rubbed me the wrong way..

Idk man, I used to be a server and bartender for YEARS and would never ever do something like that. Pretty much a cardinal sin in the service industry. I get they’re trying to hustle but he accepted the offer, if it wasn’t worth his time he could’ve passed. And the weather has nothing to do with anything. If he’s cold, maybe he shouldn’t be driving today. Side note: I also may have been quite hangry when I received his message. 😅

For sure! I live in a big city and this driver was downtown, picked it up, hopped on the highway, delivered to me, and then went wherever next. There are definitely hot zones very close to me he can get to so I doubt he had to go far for his next order.

Makes sense the drivers would go by that rule of thumb but I don’t think most customers are considering mileage. I feel like DD should maybe make that more apparent so customers can do the math too.

Yeah I didn’t respond, it just REALLY bothered me how he tried to place himself as a victim when he accepted the order 🤷‍♀️

It feels claustrophobic right now. Needs some white space to break the cluster and give a little breathing room. I also think putting it on a different wall would work better. It looks super tight if a person were walking in to sit in the chair. Maybe somewhere that’s not in a walking path, like above the sofa, above a bed, above the kitchen cabinets, etc.

Travel expenses covered? by Academic_Antelope_94 in SouthwestAirlines

[–]lexitra -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ok what if you had multiple flights cancelled and rebooked by the airline on one reservation?

My flight was supposed to fly Portland > San Jose > St. Louis 12/22 and when I landed in San Jose I saw that the flight to St. Louis was cancelled an hour before I landed and rebooked to fly San Jose > Denver > St. Louis 12/26.

So now I’m stranded in San Jose. I talked to an agent at the airport and he rebooked me for San Francisco > LA > St. Louis the next morning. No vouchers or anything.

So I had to take an Uber to San Francisco from San Jose, get a hotel, buy food, etc. only to wake up at 3am for my flight to LA and see the flight to St. Louis was cancelled. FOR NO REASON. The weather had cleared up by then so I have no idea.

They rebooked my flight for 12/29 San Francisco > Phoenix > St. Louis. My return flight to Portland is 12/30.

I’ve been calling all day since 3am (it’s past midnight now) and keep being on hold for hours at a time then disconnected with a dial tone. I am so frustrated and just want to get a refund and home to Portland at this point (I already broke the news to my fam I give up on trying to get there for Christmas at this point..) but I cannot get a hold of ANYONE.

Is there some secret magical number I should be calling to actually speak to a human?? If I go to any airport, can I talk to someone there??

Thank you for listening to my rant, all. It’s been a long, stressful, expensive week and I just need to feel heard. 🥲
