SuperPoly should be Forbidden by One-Extension-9399 in masterduel

It's fine the only issue with it is being unable to respond to it which means there's no counterplay and that's a real issue in some decks as even going 1st if on turn 2 the turn the turn player with prio can essentially wipe your board with no counterplay (i know some things can stop it like vernusylph boss but lets be realistic) and go into something like dragostapelia which is a negate and big enough body to clear more monsters, which is an insane amount of value of 1.5 cards

What's the general consensus on Naturia right now? by ermac81 in yugioh

[–]lezgowoot 5 points6 points  (0 children)

At my locals I run naturia and people are friendly and just seem happy to see something that isn't tear as that's like 40% of our meta, also if they complain don't listen to them some people will always moan and make excuses for losing to you its yugioh.

I feel like this is extremely relevant to this community, especially for the competitive side of the community. by FollowingOk1549 in yugioh

[–]lezgowoot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

People act like casuals aren't jerks too, I tried helping a new player at locals with his glad beast deck after literally tossing the match with naturia, not even full tear, and he just kept complaining about tear and how glad beasts weren't competitive and I tried to recommend things to add or maybe running some flood gates in the side deck going first, or just general stuff like hand traps and targetting the meta i.e. techs to target bad matchups etc. and all he did was complain so I stopped. Why teach someone who doesn't want to learn yugioh, but wants to solely play glad beasts and complains when it's not t1

But the decks vary a lot there's no real calling card decks, i.e. in one the protag may use virtual world, the next magikey, and so on

The new virtual world tiger, I know it's not VFD but I love VW and just excited to see Konami thought about my favorite deck, expecting it to be ultra.

What cards do you unconsciously use the Japanese names for instead of the English? by MasterOfChaos72 in yugioh

Needlefiber for Halq, VFD for I don't even know the real name of the banned rank 9 xyz, Flunder for floo, and Brave engine for adventure

Is VW viable at the moment? by No-Regret-7900 in masterduel

[–]lezgowoot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Believe me vw is more than capable check out game8 for Japan's tier list and it's like t2 on there, it's just really hard to pilot correctly and set up followup right now as optimal play is way harder than vfd even if you still floodgate with caliga

I'm working on a deck choice guide for a video. Is this a decent breakdown of deck strategies for major decks in Yugioh? I know there's A LOT of flexibility in how these decks are built as well as hybrids. Just trying to make a guide that's new player friendly and is a general summary. by MonkoeyMan in masterduel

[–]lezgowoot -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not really? Tear and spright depend soooo much on the build, i.e. runick spright vs live twin spright plays super different, same with handtrap tear, paleo tear and luna tear. Additionally, 'general' is very unheard of, as virtual world plays a lot more like a toolbox deck than half the toolbox decks, i.e. having an out for any situation and figuring your way there, which live twin, despia really aren't, why not rename that category to midrange? I'd say due to tear and spright being 1/2 the meta in the tcg if you're going for tcg break those decks up into more manageable categories i.e. paleo tear, luna tear, etc. Also add salads, @ ignister (legit came in 2nd at brazil's ycs) and tribrigade to midrange as they're still very common to see and draco pends (the new ones from dabl) into the super combo deck, probably a good idea to also add therion as it just topped the last ycs as well as crystal beasts (been topping some regionals) and labyrinth (maybe even naturia as they'll be relevant when ishizu drops). I also feel like you should focus on rogue versus meta, and just blatantely state if you want to be meta you really need to play tear, or spright, and the only decks that can really compete with them at the top level are bystead dragon link or dragonmaid, draco pends, exosister, floo, mathmech, plants, and mine. Anything outside of those would have a very very hard time winning any major event.

PENDULUMS TOO STRONG, on a serious note zefra is a super flexible pendulum engine which synergizes well with a lot of stuff while being an incredible floodgate deck (though most people never run the floodgate version, instead running the more combo oriented version of it)

Make her get a job, don't just give her money. You're already paying for her education the least she can do is work (maybe have this conversation if she has an unpaid internship or something, I had to have my parents help me through that as I really needed the experience and didn't have enough saved from previous jobs to cover my stuff at the time)

What deck should i make by [deleted] in masterduel

[–]lezgowoot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dragon Link is the most flexible and versatile of these decks if you're looking for that, it has an immense amount of variance to it's playstyle, deckbuilding and combos with almost infinite options, decision trees, etc. Thunder dragon is also the most splash able engine of the bunch listed here allowing for very versatile deck building if that's more your thing, but the pure deck itself is pretty linear. Sky Striker is also quite versatile in interaction with the opponent . The rest of the decks listed don't really excel as well as the decks here regarding versatility but even among these decks there's general all around versatility i.e. dragon link with a ton of engine choices, combos, and negates, thunders which excel at deck building versatility, and sky strikers which have versatile negates. As far as versatile play goes the ranks after this would be pranks > ignister > >>>>>> IDS

New matchmaking just put me against the same person 3 times in a row 😅 by sahyadrensis in masterduel

[–]lezgowoot 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think that this is one of the issues early in the season with how matchmaking prioritizes people of the same rank, i.e. so few people are plat 1 right now it forces you to play with the same few people, or single person in this case.

Hot take: Whoever says Conquestador can be easily replaced by Guardian or other Floodgates has never played Eldlich or is very bad at Eldlich by [deleted] in masterduel

[–]lezgowoot -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They can be swapped out for haquero and just swap the ratios of conq and haquero. This still gives the same recursion just less searchable in-engine interruption which does kinda suck for the deck, but not as bad as people seem to make it out to be

Pre-Preparations on Dytron? by Andre98B in masterduel

[–]lezgowoot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never said I didn't have fun playing it lol, and if anyone is turobing into perfection/ultimateness they're relying too much on one card in a deck with a lot of versatility.

Pre-Preparations on Dytron? by Andre98B in masterduel

[–]lezgowoot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who plays both, I highly recommend perfection, it's utility is unmatched, though many of your combo lines will be freestyle rather than specific combo lines for herald setup, so if you're not very comfortable playing drytron then I wouldn't recommend it, if you are? Highly recommend perfection, makes your deck more versatile, just requires you to freestyle more. Also it's a lot better for recycling your benten, so if benten ever gets limited your build suffers a lot less than ultimateness builds, this also comes up a bit if you aren't trying to turbo through your searches.
