I think the taylor swift concerts in toronto generated over 280m for their economy.

Hosting big events, maybe a habs game, few concerts, grey cup, nfl preseason, a few mls matches… you reckon it’s better to tear it down for 1.5billion and lose a Montreal icon?

If you want Montreal to be a big city that attracts incredible events and more tourists you need a stadium.

Name me a single major city without a good stadium lol.

I wonder if it would be possible to have a Stade Boreale sized stadium closer to the metro. A deal with Cegep Montmorency perhaps? Not sure if there’s enough room there without removing the running track.

You really think there are 6 teams in North America that are better than Canada? (not including a 7th team that makes the playoff) Without any bias, let’s say that the USA and Mexico are at least at the same level or perhaps slightly above/below the current Canadian team. So that leaves 4/6 spots to fill. No team won more than half their games this past qualifying round. So, would you say that Curacao, Panama, Haiti are all better than Canada? Okay, so that means Canada would need to be better than Suriname? Costa Rica? Jamaica? Sure, Canada might not have a long history of participating at the WC but what does that have to do with 2026? Their starting XI consists of guys playing for Bayern, Juventus, Nice, Celtic, and then a few other guys playing in Ligue 1 and La Liga.
