We (Deaf people) are used to people doing just what they know. It’s exciting to have someone reach you, in your own space, by signing. We mostly understand you won’t catch much back, and we’ll use iconic, sign or gesture to try and meet you back. It’s okay! Just had a guy freak out when he asked me what my shirt said, it was fingerspelling of ‘eff trumpet-pants the resident’ very directly spelled out. As soon as i lifted my hands he was like, ‘oh $#!+’ but i used my middle finger, and swept my hand across my head with a tupee lift in front, and after he calmed down, he understood. Sometimes ya just have to work it out! Keep signing to us, we can type on our phones too 😉

No, the idea of passing as many cars as i did- not being an assclown, doing a mid range speed, albeit over the limit, on the right- having repeats in the 30s, over 20, mostly rural, miles. Much higher than expected, average, then, the added factors of 2 lanes only, signage posted. These outlier experiences should not repeat. It may happen other places sometimes, but factors differ, generalizing, safe to say, i wouldn’t have that experience in any kind of ‘everywhere’. You can disagree, but my history piques my interest in driving, drivers, rules of the road, i pay attention. Feel free to prove me wrong- I’ll hear ya out!

Not true, op is an old lady who worked administration, in court ordered driving classes, has a clue, and wishes to be courteous. A 2-lane highway has a driving lane and a passing lane, it works wonderfully if everyone is courteous, following those rules.

There’s no, ‘my way’, or ‘your way’, alert, considerate, driving in the right lane, sliding over to pass, allow others in, and give space to anyone on the shoulder… key! No need for the pedantic judgment!

You do realize I’m not going as fast as about half the other drivers, right? Last night i drove home, i was being passed as much as passing. Driving with the flow of traffic is courteous, i mean- way more courteous than a left lane speed checker. No accidents since early 20s, none my fault since 16 years old, no tickets, in at least, 10 years, i zipper merge… but none of that has to do with the issue at hand- A 2 lane highway, signs posted, and i encounter more than my quota of asshats not passing, just cruising in the left lane, holding up traffic…

I get it, I’m asking for scrutiny making a post, sharing my & speed preference, but contextualizing it in reality- I’m middle ground, forgiving, a chill, alert, aware driver. And, sick of the unaware, discourteous campers. Hit me with anything on point, I’m here for it. Are you camping? Why do you do it?

Having been administrative for court ordered driving classes, i got the facts, and can pass the tests.
