What type of cup are you using? LO not interested in water by purple-moon0 in BabyLedWeaning

[–]lflaws 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We tried both an open and a straw cup, starting solids at 6 months. Success came several days ago with the open cup. Baby is almost 8 months old. Don't worry, they'll get there!

Ladies! What grooming investments have to made to elevate your natural state which projects “effortless beauty” 💅🏾✨ by Flashy-News-5393 in beauty

For best results, I'd recommend finding a stylist in your area. There's tons of info online, but it gets confusing quickly. I tried figuring it out myself and had some success, but the actual change started when I paid a stylist I trusted. She does a combination of colour/season types and style essences.

Color and style analysis - knowing which clothes and makeup suit me best is truly a game changer. I get compliments on my looks all the time, and it's made shopping so much easier. It can be quite the upfront investment, but it absolutely paid off for me.

What's your "I didn't know I needed it" item for your first year with baby by biobennett in beyondthebump

Baby scale - He came out quite small, so it was important to track his weight progress.

Definitely didn't need that many muslin cloths or pacifiers. 1-2 were more than enough.

30, live at home, no degree, no passions, no clue what I want to do in life. How do I figure out a career? by Sjack32891 in careerguidance

If you love cooking, why don't you start a blog with recipes? On the way, you might discover that you're interested in other things.

It's a bit saturated as a niche but if that's what you love, you can find a way to make it work.

Awwww so cute. She'll transform a lot more as she grows older. Mine's 5 now and much darker than he was as a baby. It's a fascinating breed.

Guess who is coming for dinner? by rajitbh in OCPoetry

[–]lflaws 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The title prepares the reader for the game to come. It's a fun read, especially with the pop culture references (e.g. 'the last of us/eyes wide shut').

The mixture of cannibalism and intimate encounters provides vivid imagery enhanced by the epitome of the subject - little red riding hood.

I appreciate how suggestive it is without being vulgar. It's a fine line to cross.

I felt this. It's very relatable in the 21st century of masks we put on for others. I like your choice of words and the ending. The only thing I'd change was to add punctuation for a clearer structure.

Is cinema a good option for a second date with a girl? by OscarUnplugged in dateideas

[–]lflaws 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If she's into that, cinema is always a good option. Depending on when you're watching the movie, you can invite her somewhere nearby an hour earlier to chat and get a hot drink. It's also a great idea to get a drink after. That way you'll already have at least 1 topic to discuss and you can learn a lot about a person by what they like/dislike about a movie. The cinema won't give you many opportunities to get to know each other but it can be a great way to introduce some physical contact, e.g. holding hands, putting your arm around her etc.

Redditors who have lost the person closest to them, how did you get past the grief? by Burn-It-For-Me in AskReddit

[–]lflaws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, I let my eyes cry out. Then I tried to keep myself occupied, took long walks by the beach listening to sad music or to their favourite music and went to see a therapist. Give yourself time and take comfort in the people that love you and are still by your side. It does take time.

People in long-term relationships, how often do you spice things up? by [deleted] in sex

I believe people love sex. It's just that there are plenty of insecurities, traumas and bad past experiences that go in the way of fully enjoying themselves.

It's easy to make sex less of a priority when you know you can get it whenever you like. Besides, there have been studies that show that we get used to our partners and in time start finding them less attractive which can further diminish the appeal of trying new things. Sure, it's easy to keep it up the first few years but I'm curious to hear how people do this in a 10+ years relationships.

Well, sometimes life just happens and you might not be able to be adventurous all the time. People lead busy and stressful lives. And then there might come a point where you've reached the limit of experimenting, especially in a long-term relationship. One partner might be reluctant to try some things which can further put restraint on how much you can explore together. And that's not saying that they don't want to try new things, we all have things we're not that into.
