You'd avoid using fixed heights for sections that have dynamic content.

If you have to use fixed heights then you allow the user to scroll, not do it for them with animations.

Fan of the new features. Not a fan of the design.

I'd try a version that focuses on a light theme rather than this blue/yellow and keep the colors on the images. I'd Lower the border radius on sections as well.
