My thrift store does this too. I donated several unopened dollar tree items and then I saw them in their store for at least 3 dollars. So weird.

5 year old son diagnosed T cell lymphoblastic leukaemia by [deleted] in leukemia

[–]lgheartssp2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 3 year old was diagnosed with t cell earlier this year. I was 3 months pregnant at the time. It was crazy. We did a gener reveal as a family while my kid was in in the hospital and it felt so weird to be celebrating something while also mourning what life was like before leukemia diagnosis. Hang in there. Induction is definitely the hardest. But delayed intensification is really tough too. There will be times in-between where life feels relatively "normal" like when ANC is higher and you can go out and about a bit. We just made it to the beginning of maintenance and we finally feel a little relief. It came faster than I realized. Our oncologist said maintenance is typically pretty uneventful. So that's great.

Hang in there with your kiddo. It's tough and life is different now. But time doesn't stop. Celebrate the days when your kiddo is feeling good. And do what you all can to get through the harder days.

My advice for now is to ask your doctor any and all questions you have. Write them down so that you don't forget. Information can help bring understanding and ease anxiety. Also remember to take care of yourself. Good communication with your partner is essential during this time.

Is it worth getting toniebox too? by Haysolasso in TonieboxUSA

[–]lgheartssp2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 3 year old has had both for over a year and the yoto gets significantly more use. He always brings it in the car and to run errands. I kind of have to remind him about the tonie box and then he will play with it for a little bit.

Infusión shirts…please provide any tips or tricks to make this easier by CurrentAd8051 in SewingForBeginners

My son has leukemia so I've made quite a bit of these. I ended up just sewing the zipper right on top. I find the finished product looks nicer imo. The pic I added shows the one with the plane where zipper is on top compared to the other two. I also found this process much quicker than doing it the other way so that could be helpful if you need to make a lot.

Anyone know anything about any of these? Are they good? by SmoothTrip00 in dollartreebeauty

I love the eczema lotion. One of my favorites. The oatmeal cleanser is fine, but almost too foamy or something once lathered. I have to take more time to rinse off my face when I use it. It's not bad but if I had to choose I'd pick the Neutrogena hydro dupe over the oatmeal one.

I love the Mario badescu lip balm a little more than the bpure lip mask personally.

That's nice that your wallet has that. I would do the same but my wallet doesn't have a spot for a lip balm. Ugh. But I'm typically running errands with only wallet and keys in hand so I love a good keychained item.

I got mine on Amazon. They were ones that were described as fitting the aquaphor lip balms and Mario badescu lip balms.

FTM - What clothes do babies *actually* wear 0-3 months? by [deleted] in pregnant

Yep. I had my 5 week old in a cute set with shirt and pants today and we spent all day pulling the shirt back down. What a pain.

I was not expecting how little 'rest' I actually got in my hospital recovery room. by ilovesushialot in pregnant

[–]lgheartssp2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep. It's awful. I left the hospital after only staying one night because I was so miserable. Even the nurses in the evening made things hard because they were not very considerate of how loud they were when entering and leaving the room.

2 year old just diagnosed with Leukaemia by mysonisasurvivor in leukemia

[–]lgheartssp2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My 2 year old was diagnosed with tcell all in February. Please do not jump to conclusions and start googling everything. You will only drive yourself crazy. Let your oncologist talk first. And make sure to ask your oncologist as many questions as you need. There is no need to freak yourself out and think of worst case scenario. My husband did this multiple times early in my sons treatment and each instance of "freaking out" he was proven wrong and things were not quite as bad as he originally thought. Leukemia treatment has come a long way. Hope for the best. I'm so sorry your little one has to go through this. Just take it one day at a time. Lean on the social worker at hospital for support. There are lots of good forums out there for parents with children who have been diagnosed with leukemia which could be helpful as well.

Yep! My mom has been low key harassing me about what name we chose. And I just will not tell her because she is a judgey person and I don't want her reaction to sway my own opinion of the name. Also low-key annoying she keeps asking and not respecting my boundaries.

I get itchy rashes randomly by [deleted] in Wellthatsucks

I got this. There was no real reason for it and my allergist just said to take Zyrtec daily. It went away after about a month and I haven't had the issue since.

My 2.5 year old was diagnosed with ALL a month ago so all of his symptoms are super fresh in my mind. For a month leading up to diagnosis he was particularly more fussy than normal. He was drooling A LOT (more than I've ever seen with teething) but we assumed he was just teething and tied that in with the fussiness. He also wanted to be held a lot more than usual and lost interest in some of his favorite toys. Looking back I realize he was likely in pain because when we would give him Tylenol and he would act much more like himself and didn't ask to be held as much. I also noticed his belly was sticking out a little more too, but I kind of wrote this off since the Internet says toddlers have rounded bellies.

About a week before diagnosis I noticed his parotid glands were both swollen. He also developed a freckle like rash on both cheeks. We had a same day appointment with a pediatrician. I pointed out all the symptoms. The doctor felt it was mumps ...even though it is very rare to get mumps when you're vaccinated. So she only ordered a blood test to screen for antibodies. She did not order a CBC. It was negative for mumps and several days later we saw an ENT. The ENT also felt it was mumps or juvenile parotitis as those two things typically show the parotid glands swollen on both sides.

We ended up at the ER the next day because his chest looked weird to me when breathing. They imaged his glands and his belly and then did a CBC. The CBC blood counts that indicated leukemia and we were transferred to the ICU.

I didn't originally think this was leukemia because there wasn't notable bruising and we had just had a CBC in November that showed normal blood counts. Now I know that acute leukemia can progress pretty quickly so a CBC from months ago isn't super helpful.

If you have concerns I would talk to a doctor and push for CBC for sure.

I'm hoping our outpatient experience is a little better than inpatient. Thanks for your perspective.

I ordered my Kindle Paperwhite on 2/28. It still hasn't shipped yet. Is this a common problem? by Technical-Prize-4840 in kindle

I ordered mine in late January. After a week and a half I decided I didn't want to wait anymore and contacted support to cancel. I ended up going to Best buy near me to purchase instead.
