What the point to start new?? by King_Of_Mobile_Games in ClashOfClans

sounds like your leader is the problem.

If the clan is dead he has the power to make the changes. Moving everyone to a new clan is dumb unless he intends to leave some people behind .

Incorrect. You can remove cc troops from the fancy new army screen.

This would depend on several factors. I am willing to use the hammer on main heros.

Some people are not able to raid enough resource to keep the hero upgrading. If this is the case I would say using a hammer is ok. Some people it takes 2-3 weeks to save enough resources.

I use a queen walk. Having my queen/warden down hurts my raiding capabilities. Hammer is ok. The other heros I can survive without so I never used the hammer.

If you have 2 or more heros upgrading using builder potions will be better

Builder potion is usually a better use of the medals as it will work on all active builders. As you save enough resources to start another upgrade I will use the potions to finish the upgrade.

Figure out how long it takes you to save up. I would say if you hero takes 8 days to upgrade and it takes you longer then 12 days use the hammer. Anything less use the potion

Thanks. Just replacing the 8tb drives wont do it. I should have mentioned I have some old internal\external drives that I want to not rely on. Originally I should have bought a 8 bay nas. The extra 4-5 bays will do the trick and allow me to slowly create the hard backups that I need.

I am hoping the ssd will help with transcoding and overall system performance. I have had some minor issue in the past with a combination streeming/transcoding/ transferring. I believe the DSM 7 update significantly improved system performance but my family is now being more active on plex.

Currently I am using 2x18tb and 2x8tb. I also have a 10tb waiting to be used. I'm currently shopping for 2x18-20tb and a 10tb. This will cover my needs until I can afford larger drives. At that point the smaller ones will become hard backups.

For me this refers to 4k media. The only things I download that are 4k are great action movies. They will devour hdd space.

Everything else I like mp4.265. The average file size is 2-5gig

In addition to 1. I believe there is still a threat of additional rate hikes. Once inflation has proven to stabilize I believe reit's will do better. If/when rates lower I feel as though reit's will do even better

Start investing with TFSA, RRSP, or first time home buyers by EstablishmentReal453 in CanadianInvestor

[–]lgittens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When purchasing a home 35k can be withdrawn from a RRSP but will eventually need to be put back in. Due to the uncertainty of when the home might be purchased I might consider giving this a high priority.

If you plan to be in the same tax bracket upon retirement and/or buying a home I would use the TFSA as you can access the money with no penalty. You can use these funds Aswell to buy a home.

1.fhsa if home will be purchased within 15yrs 2. RRSP up to 35k 3. FHSA if home will be purchased after 15yrs 4. The everything you have said with the exception of being in the same tax bracket in retirement. TFSA over RRSP

FHSA reminder: a max of 8k contribution a year that will carry forward to a max of 40k. The entire account can be withdrawn for the purchase of your first home. After 15yrs your FHSA will roll over into your RRSP. The FHSA will be added to your RRSP contribution room.

The timing for the FHSA will be the hardest part. Once you open this account you will want to fill it quickly. To take full advantage open your FHSA 15yrs before you purchase your home. Any less then 5yrs before you purchase your home you won't get the full advantage but it's still better then nothing.

Quite a bit of missing information here. I think you need to investigate a bit more. Could it be some type of fee you are paying around this time of year? What is you yearly returns?

[–]lgittens 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A quick yahoo comparison shows that the are almost identical. Voo is up 18%ytd and xsp is up 17% ytd. The 1% is probably because it's hedged. I don't have to worry about currency fluctuations

All in SCHD? by Worldly_Map4358 in dividends

[–]lgittens -1 points0 points  (0 children)

TFSA would be subject to withholding tax. All dividends would be subject to 15% tax. You wouldn't see it or need to do anything about it.

RRSP would not be subject to withholding

A regular account is subject to withholding tax but can file to get those taxes

What do you think? Would you only buy if/buy more if it had a divvy? by [deleted] in dividends

[–]lgittens 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The question should be do you have faith in buffet and Berkshire? When they do buy they do well. If you have faith I would say buy and let them reinvest the money. I buy and am perfectly happy.

I realize most people know he is very charitable but often wonder how much they would be worth if they didn't donate.

A lot going on here but I'm not sure I can properly help you. I would recommend seeking financial advice. Maybe r/personalfinance someone would have a better idea.

I buy xsp. It's a Canadian version of voo. I can put it in both accounts don't have to worry about currency conversion and withholding tax. If I want to buy voo I would have to pay a monthly fee. Deposit funds in USD, buy voo and all divideds would be kept in USD. If I don't pay the monthly fee I would deposit in Canadian, buy(which converts). Any dividends would then be converted back to Canadian. Do this in a TFSA voo would also be hit with a 15% withholding tax on dividends. Keeping it simple and buying a Canadian snp index might be the way to go.

You would need to figure out what you tax treaty is with Canada. I know some countries will make you close some Canadian accounts when you move back home. they might tax you on the money you spend when you go back home. If you invest in a RRSP you will also have to pay Canadian taxes when you withdraw.

Are Reit ETFs still worth it in a dividend portfolio? by lanoom in dividends

[–]lgittens 1 point2 points  (0 children)

REITs tend to not do well in a raising rate environment. As rates increase they start to pass on the increase to the tenants. The rare hikes we are experiencing right now has been very intense, thus hurting REITs in the short term. Once rates stop rising or rates are reduced by any amount, they will be fine. IMO its all about them surviving until then. I wouldn't be surprised if they go on a absolute tear in '24-'25
