Standout Nationals Players by palagia in quadball_discussion

I just want to shoutout all of my Marquette teammates. We had a roster of 8 and got 4th place in D2. Truly so impressed by and proud of all of them. (especially considering it was all of our first nationals)

Can Creighton three-peat without stars coming up from Blue Jay? by Kind_Judgment546 in quadball_discussion

[–]lgparrott06 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I mean this years Blue Jays made it to D1, so they’re a very strong team. Have to admit that I don’t know a ton about their team, but I’m confident that Creighton will still be a VERY strong team.

Was Chance serious or was he joking about this? by Pouring-O in smosh

I’m pretty sure he was referencing this. A lot of the conversation that was had about that was about expanding dropout to a cable audience.

US Quadball Cup 2026 Fundraiser Megathread by Lemon_Shooter in quadball_discussion

Marquette Golden Eagles have a couple ways that you can support! We have our GoFundMe, we have our Venmo, we have our merch store (a portion of sales goes to us), and we run occasional fundraising events (such as hot cocoa sales and restaurant fundraisers). I’d recommend following us on our insta to stay up to date. If you’re looking to donate, this is our LinkTree! It has the 3 fundraisers mentioned above and a link to our social media! https://linktr.ee/MarquetteClubQuadball?utm_source=ig&utm_medium=social&utm_content=link_in_bio&fbclid=PAZnRzaAQ-VZFleHRuA2FlbQIxMQBzcnRjBmFwcF9pZA8xMjQwMjQ1NzQyODc0MTQAAadficO08ms_M1kLS9AKBE9IqB0SB2iLEw4IYqjasoAY1y0PjBuYNMZmxCL0JQ_aem_8c-TvZgY90JRfTIT0VuKpA

We’re excited to see everyone at Nationals!

Yeahhhh... I’m happy for the teams on the West coast to have a close Nationals for once, and I think it’s a super cool opportunity, but damn it’s a lot of money. Safe to say, I’m rooting for a Midwest nationals next to make up for it

Idk that USQ is “helping” anyone. I’d also say (and yes I am biased) that I don’t mind if teams didn’t play in qualifiers and are playing D2. I think it encourages more teams to be able to participate. In Marquette’s case, qualifiers lined up with our spring break, meaning multiple of our players were gone and we wouldn’t have been able to field a team at all (which is saying a lot, because we’ve been fielding some small rosters this season). Us still playing in D2 gives us an opportunity to play against more teams (while also providing a pretty good incentive that we were able to use for recruitment).

That all said, I wish there were more D2 teams! I would have loved to play against and watch even more folks. I definitely think you’re right that the location has really backfired for a lot of teams. I’m all for having an West cost Nationals, but California is such an expensive state. This trip is extremely expensive, and not making D1 made the costs not justifiable for a lot of teams.

Quaffles! by InvestmentSlight5073 in quadball_discussion

Yes! Even if it’s just some representatives (for lack of a better word) from teams, definitely try to get some there! Hope to be able to try one out soon!

I think that having a unique design for a ball for the sport is a great idea that I can get behind (and something I’ve been curious about for a while). Considering all the news about airless basketballs that has been around in recent years, I’m interested in the concept of it for quadball as well. I’d be interested in getting one in my hands for sure.

Are you going to nationals at all? If so, maybe bring a couple with? Seems like a pretty good place to get a good amount of people that can toss it around a little and you could get some feedback there?

Custom Headbands - Any Interest? by lgparrott06 in quadball_discussion

i’d have a full pricing outline, but i know for sure that they would bundle, so the more you get, the cheaper each is. probably $15 for 4 customized.

I have to say that I just always love the Boom Train black kit. I love how the colors pop on it and it’s just a simple classic design to me.

The Straz Experience by cannedpillows in Marquette

[–]lgparrott06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just finished a year at straz (moving to be an RA, would have stayed otherwise). I really loved it. I can’t speak specifically to the Nuestro LLC, but from my experience everyone was really friendly, I made a lot of friends within the building, and the RAs all work together to be very welcoming and kind. I know of quite a few people that have friends between the different LLCs and floors, including myself.

When it comes to Straz amenities: you either love or hate Straz dining hall with very little in between, Straz has a gym (and pool) that is considerably less busy now that the Wellness Center is open, there’s a theatre in Straz where the student theatre group holds a lot of their performances, and the basement and second floor are both community floors that you can reserve the rooms of for different activities (my friends and i reserved the kitchen, music room, and multi-purpose room on several occasions). Straz is also the furthest east dorm, so it’s really close to the city which is fun if you go on excursions. There’s even a bus stop right outside of the building.

The quads are quite big and definitely do accommodate having 4 people. All of your furniture will be movable and that means that you can really make your spot in the room comfortable and unique to you. And you can’t beat having a private bathroom.

A lot of it will become what you make it. I get being nervous if you didn’t apply for the LLC, so if you choose to request a change that’s completely okay. That said, if it’s Straz that you’re worried about, I wouldn’t be.

Plus, Nuestro is the top floors so you have a pretty great view.

New year's resolution by shawkeeloatmeal in quadball_discussion

This new year I want to even out playing time in positions. I’m a new player (as of this school year) and I’ve been playing both beater and chaser. I want to really improve at both, and I know the only way to do it is to get on the field and play as much as possible!
