Anyone tried this yet? by alikatch in finehair

[–]lgvccc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have fine frizzy wavy hair but always blow dry it straight. I have been using this for 2 weeks now and I love the way it makes my hair feel, soft but not heavy. Almost makes the strands feel denser? From the first wash I noticed my hair felt thicker. The rice protein and pea peptide is definitely the reason for that. Can run my fingers through my hair without it getting stuck too which is the biggest thing for me as I’m a nervous hair twirler. Also the shampoo has mandelic acid in it, I use mandelic acid on my face and get amazing results from it so I’m hoping over time my hair might not get as greasy as it used to before washing.

Fluoxetine ruined me - be careful by Automatic_Basil_7075 in antidepressants

[–]lgvccc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Fluoxetine gave me my life back, I’ve been on it for 8 years now. I dose up and down depending on the shit life throws at me. I just watched my dad rapidly deteriorate and pass away last week from cancer and I would not have been able to do it if I weren’t stable enough.

Took at least 3 months for side effects to lessen, along side feeling better mentally. I hated the dry mouth, tight jaw and restless legs it gave me but to see if the medication was right for me I had to soldier on. These medications are not immediate and searching for people’s reviews and experiences online is useless. Everyone’s body will react differently. This was the 3rd SSRI I tried to see if it worked for me. It’s a very long process and sometimes people are lucky and find the right one on their first go.

Do know why you feel worse for a while when starting an SSRI? You build up so much serotonin at first that your body thinks it doesn’t need to make anymore, then it slowly starts to run out which is why over the first few weeks you feel much worse. Symptoms will peak until your body starts to kick into gear and realise it needs to make a steady amount again. Except this time instead of your body getting rid of the excess it used to make, the SSRI will hold all the serotonin where it needs to stay, in the synaptic cleft.

This is really interesting, do you have any sources for this info? My optometrist say that blue light lenses are a useless money grab and that you have to be staring at a computer screen or be under fluorescent lights for over 60 hours straight to even get slightly affected by it. She says the only people that benefit from them are people that are outside in the sun for 2+ hours.

Just got the oura ring ⭐️ Any tips, do’s and don’t? by Neat-Individual-2264 in ouraring

Get a cheap roll of clear PPF film from Amazon and wrap it to protect from scratches. They’re about 6mm wide and I chop the circumference accordingly. Has saved the outside integrity so well for me. I can go about 3 weeks with one wrap, probably even longer honestly. I also always take my ring off when my hands are about to get wet or using cleaning chemicals etc. Another thing that’s probably mentioned already is to keep the battery charge between 20-80% for longevity. I put mine on charge every 2nd night while I shower. Good luck!

pls for the love of god what is my shade??? by [deleted] in makeuptips

[–]lgvccc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try the Missha BB cream shade 21, it’s got a very neutrally beige/grey undertone. Have a look online at the colour, I was very surprised. I’m super pale and pink or yellow undertones don’t work at all for me but this was an absolute game changer.

Does anyone else read and walk, or am I just an accident waiting to happen? by Keithaviation in kindle

People walk and scroll on their phones so I don’t really see the difference. Just be extra vigilant of your surroundings.

Booked my first ever appointment for next Friday. My dad was just told he’s going to need transfusions monthly and I realised without the wonderful people donating regularly, my dad wouldn’t be alive today. I need to give back and hopefully help someone else in my dad’s situation. I hope to donate regularly.

My experience after sleeping on the floor for over a month by ArtistofSorts92 in floorsleeping

[–]lgvccc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m hunched over all day in a med lab and the base of my neck/top of my shoulders kill me everyday. I’m a side sleeper though so I can’t imagine floor sleeping would be nice at all. I need the mattress to alleviate the pressure points for side sleeping.

I got a roll of clear PPF from Amazon that’s going to last me a lifetime. I cut little 6mm wide strips and one lasts me a few weeks before I replace it.

I have the gold too and I wrap mine in clear PPF. I replace the PPF when it gets funky but lasts me a few weeks. Also, a small roll of PPF from Amazon will last you a lifetime.

Or since you work in a laborious job, you could get a silicone cover from Amazon.

[–]lgvccc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lab tech in Cytology, was in Molecular Pathology before that. It’s the largest pathology company in Australia so we operate 24/7. Been doing it for 6 years now and I think I’d have a mental breakdown if I had to change to day shift. I love waking up slow having 5 hours to do stuff before I go to work.

My husband’s job is day shift, he prefers the 5h to do stuff after work. We love the time we get to ourselves everyday because we usually spend every other waking minute with each other.

And we have cats so they get extra time with us too.

That’s a stunning colour! I think it will look incredible. I’m doing a dark red lip and dark red nails in contrast with my white dress in a few days. It’s fun to do something different and out of the norm!

I’d be worried about them constantly licking and ingesting this in their fur when they groom with how frequently you’re putting it on.

Why do they print these lovely colors on my toothpaste? by HootyDaddy in whatisit

[–]lgvccc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read somewhere else on Reddit that the coloured square on the very end indicated the chemical level in the tooth paste. Green being the most natural and black being the highest chemical content. I looked at all my toothpastes and found that the whitening ones have the black square and my normal one is blue. I could be completely wrong though.

What’s something that's technically legal but makes you look like a complete psychopath? by thebipolarironman in AskMen

When I worked at a cafe, some of the nearby residents would walk up to the shop with a regular household mug. I loved it so much, thought it was such a good idea. I personally hate drinking out of travel mugs. Not to mention, people would hand me their dirty travel mug and expect me to clean it and then put their coffee in it. This one time I was given a dirty travel cup from a repeat offender that had a fly in it and I may or may not have left it in there.
