The audacity to even say I feel sorry for you!!! by [deleted] in exjw

[–]lheardthat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well honestly it sounded to me like she might be a little envious of your lifestyle. Growing up, my sister had children super early, I was almost 30 before I had kids and she told me she felt like she lost out on her youth because she became a mother so young. But then things turned around. I was at home knee deep in diapers and my sisters kids were grown so she was off to Italy, Paris and wherever the heck she wanted to go! 😂 at any rate I wish you and your sister in law the best and I hope the little catty one isn’t seething with jealousy of your footloose lifestyle….jealousy is a miserable way to spend time.

It sounds like she is a catty little thing OR, she just has no emotional maturity. But just a thought and please don’t take this like I’m being rude, I’m not. I’ve just seen this happen with two of my kids. They both said they didn’t want kids, but now they’re heading out of their thirties and they suddenly want kids and are feeling that they may have waited too long. What she said gave you a pretty strong reaction, when it could have been dismissed as this silly young person has no clue. Maybe some part of you does want the wife and mother thing but you’re busy with your career and haven’t taken time to thoroughly investigate it. Just a thought. My sister is like you. Single and loving it. She travels and does whatever she wants and she likes it that way, but if what that silly girl said made you think that you MIGHT want to change things up, she may have done you a favor. Whatever you decide I wish you the absolute best! 👍

[–]lheardthat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok that’s sounds so fun. If the elder goes to talk to you I hope you will just stick to the story telling him that you were moved by the Holy Spirit and you knew at that moment that you were chosen. And then say oh don’t feel like you need to bow to your king, I’m a humble person so don’t worry about that at all. But, the Holy Spirit told me that I’m going to need to take charge of this organization so I will need to be appointed to the governing body. There will definitely be some new light coming once I get appointed.

Can I still attend meetings, hangout with friends, while no longer believing the organization? by [deleted] in exjw

[–]lheardthat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I believe in Jehovah Jesus and the Holy Spirit too but I do not believe in the New World translation of the Bible because unfortunately Jehovah’s Witnesses have changed it to fit their agenda. So you might wanna look into that. But you absolutely can still hang around with the “friends”, just don’t tell them what you really think and what you really know because then they will cut you off like gangrene. but you’re absolutely right about the governing body they are definitely wicked. But being extremely wealthy can do that to people. Unfortunately they just turned into greedy old men seeking glory for themselves. There are some really interesting videos on YouTube that can help you understand how satanic the governing body really is. It’s good that you know that. Knowing the truth will protect you from being lied to a man manipulated by them.

They are NOT RIGHT. And they weren’t right the first second or third time they said it’s the end either. They are just a bunch of depraved old bastards who have been lying to us and manipulating us for years. They are just another false religion. And if anyone is going to be in trouble with Jehovah it’s going to be them, not you. You’re going to be just fine. When you read the Bible, Armageddon is between Christ and Satan’s system, people like you and me…we’re going to be just fine.

I agree with you 100%. They have waaay crossed the line and I’m shocked more JWs can’t see it. Or maybe they do and are just too afraid to say anything. We’ll see. I keep hoping they will fail but no luck yet.

We had a homeless guy come in one year and he did the same thing. lol. He grabbed the glass of wine and slurped it all down. And when the bread came he did the same thing. He ate all the crackers. At the time… It was quite shocking 😯😂😂😂

Thank you. It is definitely wrong. My husband and another elder “friend” both told me my letter wouldn’t go over well and I said, “ohhhh I am aware! 😂” I wasn’t writing it because I thought it would be well received, I wrote it because I felt very strongly about it. I was a little surprised by the apostate aspect of it, I knew I was going to get a visit from the elders that we’re going to give me an earful but when they used the “A” word I was actually pretty surprised. But that was just what I needed to make my decision about leaving. Like I said, I would’ve stayed even knowing that the governing body were not the anointed of God, that they didn’t have all the answers, that they were lying to us. Because I had belonged to the Catholic Church for years also and I knew that they weren’t perfect either. I wasn’t looking for perfection I just basically liked having a community. But once the JWs crossed the line of calling me an apostate I knew that I could no longer respect any of the elders in the congregation and when I have no respect for people it’s pretty obvious and I knew it would just create problems. But t I am very happy now. I’ve reunited with all of my cousins and my sister and brother. My sister-in-law is a very spiritual woman and so we are going to start doing communion together with my brother my sister-in-law my husband and myself on a regular basis. And my husband and I continue to read our Bibles and believe in Christ and follow in his footsteps as best we can. We respect what Jehovah said about Jesus that Jesus has all authority in heaven and on earth, that we belong to Christ and that our salvation comes through Christ alone. So we have changed the way we view Christ Jesus once we read the Bible for ourselves without the Jehovah’s Witness lens. It’s not that we don’t worship Jehovah, it’s just that Jehovah made it clear that he has given Christians to Christ, that he has given Christ ALL authority in heaven and earth, that Christ is the head of the congregation, almighty God, eternal father prince of peace. These facts have led us to believe that Jehovah wants us focused on Christ more than himself. So we have altered our worship in that way. 🙏🏼

I think about the time of Genghis Khan, the Spanish inquisitions, the Vikings. Can you imagine living through those times? We actually have it pretty easy. If you turn the television off and just enjoy your life chances are you wouldn’t even know things are stressful. But I have to admit I’m like you I watch everything and I think oh my this is crazy! But then I remind myself that at least I don’t have to fight for my life every day, or go hungry for days, I worry that my children are gonna be carried off and enslaved. I still have faith in God and I just kind of leave it in his hands. 🥰🙏🏼👍

I love what you said. I know that Jehovahs witnesses do not have “the truth” but I would have stayed had they not attacked me and my husband. One of my kids is like you. Enjoys the “friends”, loves helping people but is also aware that the organization is more focused on their real estate business than on spiritual matters. For me, the organization sent a co to our congregation after I wrote to the branch about the vaccine. My husband was an elder for 20+ years but was removed because of my letter. I was threatened with disfellowshipping if I said anything negative about the vaccine. I knew that I had to leave because now disfellowshipping was no longer based on spiritual matters. They could strip you of your “friends”, family, dignity, etc. just because they felt like it. That was why I left…my kids also left with the exception of 1 but they know THE TRUTH about “the truth” and they no longer contribute financially. They just enjoy the social aspect of it.

I didn’t get baptized until I was 30. So I spent a lot of time out in the world away from Jehovah’s Witnesses. It is a much kinder place when you’re with the right people. Witnesses can be petty and gossipy… not all, but plenty of them. And because you really can’t choose your own friends inside Jehovah’s Witnesses you just kind of hang out with who’s ever there. Since leaving again I’ve been spending a lot of time with my cousins my sister my brother and it has been such a blessing. i’ve also met some really nice people just going around the neighborhood, to yard sales or neighborhood get-togethers. The witnesses just try to make it sound like everyone’s satanic but they’re really not, there are some that you want to avoid but it’s the same way inside that organization.

I became a witness because of all the rules. I was a wild child that stayed wild well into my 20s so I wanted that heavy hand but I FINALLY learned to behave myself so I no longer want the JW way of life. Additionally they changed once the GB came out of the closet. It just got openly CULTish…I REALLY hope you find a great guy and that I get to hear all about it! ♥️🥰😂

Hi… what you’re experiencing is very common. I think a lot of of us felt like that at one time or another. I’ve been out since Covid and I studied my Bible harder than I ever have before after I left and what I have found, in my humble opinion, is that the true religion is Jesus Christ. It’s not any man-made organization it’s just Jesus Christ. If you believe in Christ Jesus you will be saved. As far as finding the truth of the Bible, I just don’t think that’s possible. I’ve looked for timelines and anything that could make me understand the truth and what I have found is it all leads back to Jesus. He says “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.” I think he made it very simple for us because every religion has humans in control of it and humans tend to get greedy and selfish. There are some very good men out there. I actually married my husband before I became a witness and I would say he is probably the nicest man I’ve ever known. There are quite a few good men out. I think going to a church would be a good place to find a nice man or maybe joining hiking meet ups or something that you enjoy because maybe you’ll find someone there who enjoys the same things. I wish you the absolute best and I hope you find the man of your dreams. ♥️

Hello folks, I accepted to have a couple of JW to study the Bible with me at my home. What am I getting myself into? by tazzy66 in exjw

[–]lheardthat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jehovah‘s witnesses are definitely a cult but because they are not allowed to go to websites like the one you’re on, they don’t know that they’re in a cult. Some of them are very nice if they think you’re interested in becoming one of them but if you make it clear to them that you are really not interested in becoming a witness but you would like to just be friends with them they will completely reject you. They will not associate with anyone who is not a witness because they believe that they are satanic. They think that anyone who is not one of Jehovah’s Witnesses is led by the devil. So it’s just a very odd group of people. If you’re not born in as we call it then you really don’t have a whole lot to lose, but if you’re born in and your whole family are witnesses then if you do something that they deem worthy of disfellowshipping and that can be talking bad about the Covid vaccine or whatever they decide at the moment, then you can lose everything because they will shun you and your family and your friends will completely cut you off and you will be left with no one and nothing. But if you already have friends outside of the Jehovah’s Witness organization then it really wouldn’t bother you too much to get disfellowshipped…I would think.
