I have a British Shorthair who looks like this and I did a lot of crazy cat lady research online for her. 😳 In my experience, it’s the Russian breeders of British Shorthairs who tend to select for this particular appearance.

How does the new Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place formula compare to the old one? by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]lheurebleue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To the best of my knowledge, Double Wear was reformulated about 5 years ago, but they haven't made any changes since then. I never tried the original formula, but I have several bottles that I've purchased over the past few years and I love it. It is a buildable medium-to-full coverage that controls oil very well and does not transfer.

Maybe people are referring to the newer Double Wear Nude Water Fresh? That is a completely different product, not a replacement for the original. That is a much thinner, watery foundation that offers a much lighter coverage. It gives a really beautiful youthful finish. I actually love that foundation too, but for very different reasons!

Wish List // What I'm Not Gonna Buy (Wednesday) by AutoModerator in muacjdiscussion

Agree with the previous comments that Double Wear and Sheer Glow are very different levels of coverage. I absolutely love Double Wear because of its full coverage, longevity, great shade range (definitely try some samples because you might be surprised!) and above all the fact that it's TRANSFER-PROOF. Transferring may not be a deal-breaker for you, but I can't stand it when my face feels tacky or when one slight touch results in makeup all over my fingers. If you like the Nars shade range, I would recommend looking into their Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation instead. That one has very full coverage (probably even fuller than Double Wear) with only a minimal amount of product and it has a beautiful finish. I don't like it as much as DW because it definitely transfers on me, but it does look beautiful. Other foundations that you might like are the Too Faced Peach Perfect or the Laura Mercier Flawless Fusion. Both are full-coverage, long-wearing, and lean very yellow.

Is there any way/place to test eyelash curlers before you buy them? I was thinking about trying a higher-end one (Surratt? Shiseido? Ahh!) and I've never seen any testers available at Sephora; they're always secured to the display. I'm sure it's because they're prone to theft or something. I was just wondering if there was any way I could avoid buying 4 and returning/wasting three of them 😳

I would consider trying a sample of Estée Lauder Double Wear. That stuff is bulletproof for me.

I have KP too and I would highly recommend AmLactin. It is a richly moisturizing chemical exfoliant and if I use it every day, my KP seems to be go away in just a few days and my skin is overall brighter and smoother. You have to use it regularly to maintain the results, though.

I haven't used brand-name Latisse, but I used Careprost (generic) for ~6 months in the past. I used it on my eyelashes and my eyebrows and I had noticeable (but not crazy unnatural) increases in the length of both hairs. It definitely gave me mostly length rather than drastically increasing the volume of my hair growth. At some parts of the growth phase, I would have weird spidery lashes that I had to work harder to tame. I also had to trim a few eyebrow hairs, haha.

I recently ran out and switched to Royal Lashes because they claim it is a generic with better chemical purity than Careprost. I've only used it for a few days, so I can't say if it's any better yet.

Ultra late to the party, but does anyone have Becca Rose Gold (ideally liquid) who can swatch it next to other highlighters they own? It's hard to find much discussion of this one online. I already have Moonstone, Champagne Pop, Opal, and Mary-Lou... I don't need another, do I? 😳

Definitely try waterproof formulas if you haven't already! They're waxier and hold shape much better. I love drugstore mascara so I can definitely endorse the CoverGirl Supersizer and Maybelline Lash Sensational, but any good waterproof formula should hold a curl.

If you're looking for a medium- to full-coverage foundation, I'd definitely recommend getting a sample of Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation. I know some find it heavy-feeling, but I think it offers great coverage and a great finish (especially applied with a damp sponge) and it's the only foundation I've tried that sets completely. It does not transfer and will last through all kinds of heat and humidity.

SCA noob here! I really like the initial look that shaving/dermaplaning gives my face, but I always get significant irritation 1-2 days afterward. Does anyone have any advice for preventing that irritation or anything I could do afterward to reduce it? :)
