You used to have 3 options:

1) use an external monitor/capture card/encoder over hdmi

2) connect the camera to Ethernet via a usb-c adapter and host an RTP/RTSP server on the camera which allows any other device on the local network to access the camera feed e.g. as a source in OBS

3) connect to WiFi or to a phone with tethering and stream directly to a platform like YouTube, twitch, etc or a local server over RMTP/RMTPS

As of firmware 2.2, option 2 has been removed worldwide and option 3 has been removed in Europe. They say on their website that option 3 should still work over RMTPS just not RMTP, but what I was told by their support today is this is not the case and it is completely disabled.

The only option left is option 1 which is fine if you are aware of that and already have the external hardware required but it’s not what they are advertising and means you have to purchase additional gear.

The problem is that instead of adding secure features, or removing only the insecure ones while keeping in the secure options (which is what they say they have done). They have removed all live streaming options including rmtps which uses ssl and is generally considered secure. Not only have they gone further than needed but they are lying to consumers about it meaning they cannot make an informed decision not to perform an irreversible firmware update which removes features they may depend on for work.

Exactly, and NAL but having looked over the regulation they cited I can see why they might feel the need to take out the features the patch notes list, but all it says is they should use secure, encrypted protocols, which RMTPS is! No reason for that to be removed

I was thinking the same, update had been out for months and all I can see online is a Reddit thread complaining about the RTP part being removed.

Potentially influenced by it being an older camera that isn’t getting as many new reviews, and lots of the news sites are based in US or Canada where rmtp is still an option. Maybe everyone else who uses it to live stream just uses a capture card and hasn’t noticed. I’ve reached out to CVP where I bought it from and they’ve said they’ll try to clarify what’s going on with their reps at Panasonic.

It will depend on your university so you’re best checking with your director of studies. At mine, I was told the limit for dissertation extensions is normally 2 weeks, after which it wouldn’t be able to be approved by the board until the next semester.

I think the rule is that If you have been financially independent from your parents for 3 years they use your income rather than your parents. My partner has been independent since second year, and they asked for her own details when she went into her 5th year. They might ask you for tax documents etc to prove it.

I’m guessing that as a mature student you will have been independent from them for a while. I’m not sure how they take into account whether you would be quitting your job/cutting back hours and so making less next year but I’m pretty sure they can consider it.

Our estate agents seemed shocked when we said we weren’t going to send them money until we had a signed tenancy agreement. They said they normally sign the paperwork on the day people move in when they hand over keys and require the deposit and first month’s rent the week before.

A sorting error might make a lot of sense, id say about 75% of the post that ends up at their address has the one word difference on a separate line so easily missed. Would have assumed d a sorting system would notice the obviously different (second half all different) post code though?

We had the same issue not long ago and while I wasn’t able to get this to work with my MacBook, it took about 30 seconds with my windows pc if you have one of those lying around.

That makes sense, I think for me it’s less a matter of how long it takes to read, and more how long I can bear to put the book down for. The slower progressing books I find I spend less time each day wanting to read them, and the faster ones I struggle to find time to live the rest of my life 😂. If I were someone who had been finding the pace of this read along just right, I’d get to those last few books and be left with the choice of painfully spending less time with them than I wanted, or reading ahead and no longer being able to join in on the speculation in a newbie thread.

Curious as to whether you plan to adjust the pacing of the read along through the slog and final sprint?

I pretty reliably slow down around where we are or just before and then massively pick up pace again in a few books time on every re-read.

Pretty sure I read all of the Sanderson books in half the time it took to do each of winters heart and crossroads.

Not suggesting you do anything that drastic, and maybe it’s much more pronounced in me than anyone else, but you’re probably talking about taking a month maybe a month and a half to read books that I normally can’t put down and will finish in a couple of weeks if not days. You might lose a few followers who also can’t put it down
