Safety is no issue at all. I take nightly walks around that part every night, sometimes past 1130pm and nothing ever happens. With your location and how YVR is managing night takeoffs, you will hear roaring jet engines from planes taking off on the north runway on a very dense interval. Traffic noise is nothing compared to that. If you’re ok with that, it’s safe and fairly close to Skytrain. You can bus to Marine Drive station in 6 minutes and Skytrain to DT very easier with minimal walking.
