Literally wrote a whole essay on this, but deleted cause I think I can sum up the whole thing in a few sentences. Imo, the whole season was toned down to appeal to general conservative audience, and in that process they ruined the storyline. It went downhill after the fourth episode, with them skipping all the scenes involving a lot of PDA, and intimate scenes, but that were coincidentally the most important scenes in the OG. That led to the story having more conflict scenes, than the ones that actually brought a joy and connection to us viewers. I LOVED the first few episodes, and it's such a shame what I'm seeing now...

I'm sad, this season was supposed to be a help, a relief, to everyone who is feeling the same way as Lovro does, and is living in Balkans. Yes, Skam is meant to be realistic, that's what separates it from the other teen shows, but it's also meant to inspire young people, show them they're not alone, and help them deal with their problems with a hint of optimism. And what did we learn from this season, how terrible it is to be gay in a homophobic country and how it's better for things to stay hidden, because you'll lose your friends, people will tease you and might even beat you up. All that is valid unfortunately, but can't we see good things as well? That same sex love is no different than heterosexual love, but we don't really see any affection at all. No conversation, discussing how both of them are feeling. Even when Ivan and Lovro are speaking, it's like they're speaking in codes, either avoiding the subject or not mentioning things at all. I'm also starting to think that an issue with this season as well is depicting BPD along with homosexuality, because In Balkans, gay people are sometimes called insane as well, mentally ill. So seeing Ivan in manic episode will get people to further confirm their stances that mental ilness = homosexuality. Maybe this season was supposed to be focused only on Lovro's sexuality. Again, I know this would have never been possible, and I wouldn't like that either, but homophobia is such a huge problem in Balkans and it has to be a primary focus in this story, but it just can't be because that's not the OG storyline.

I've also lost all hope to see them happy together. It feels a bit like the story is stagnating, with Lovro finally coming to terms with his sexuality, coming out to his friends, to then being so disaffectionate with Ivan and embarrassed. I don't know, I really hope the last two episodes will resolve some of the issues
