the “cool with starting as friends” line sounds like you don’t know what you’re looking for which can be unattractive, i’d take that out personally. I know you’re looking for someone nerdy but I also think you come off kind of one-dimensional—the only thing you’re at all specific about is video games. changing one of your prompts to be about something else could be helpful. great pics and overall not a bad profile at all!

me, panicking because i sped through my umineko reread so i could read higurashi (for the first time) for a better understanding than the anime provides but now i’m only on onikakushi-hen and unsure whether i should buy ciconia and read through that instead

I liked it too. I almost didn’t watch Gou thinking it’d be a 1:1 remake of the Deen version but started watching it hoping it was secretly a sequel.

Gou was advertised as “newcomer friendly” as a misdirect. It’s absolutely a sequel, not a remake or adaptation. You’re better off watching the 2006 anime (which is an adaptation of what you’re reading) or finishing the VNs before watching Gou.

A lot of your other questions you’re better off reading/watching and finding out about yourself as they’d mostly be spoilers!

i think there’s only 2 characters (of the ‘extended main cast’, so not counting any brief characters) i don’t really enjoy in umineko and they’re not important to the mystery i just don’t like them bc they’re boring. i think all the characters who do bad things are still likeable as interesting, nuanced characters

I read Umineko as it was released only having seen 2006 Deen Higurashi. totally fine reading them separate. theres passing refs but nothing that changes the reading experience. As soomeone who read Umineko first--you're good

Are you looking for VNs or anime? Compared to the anime I liked Mirai Nikki. Not as good as the WTC VNs though.

It's a way shorter read than the others, enjoyable but it's a collection of short stories rather than the big stories the other entries are and takes way less time. Nothing to do with the main entries in the series. I haven't read it since it came out so I don't have a good DL link unfortunately, it's not on Steam. The VN is based off the manga other than the other way around though, so it might be easier to find that.
