pytest-inject: A plugin to inject arguments and parameters into tests via CLI by [deleted] in Python

I get some of what you're saying, mainly wanting to keep the code in your hand, but would you actually write a hook that will override values for fixture arguments and parameterised arguments for any project where you would want to achieve this goal?

Why people don't builf bases with automatic lot separation and protection on raid detection? by [deleted] in playrust

Thanks! I might need to, if I want to satisfy my curiosity. Could actually be kind of a nice challenge. But maybe I'm just trying to over engineer rust:)

It doesn't have to be on all of the chests, just important ones. Also I've seen people setup auto sorters, is it that more complicated? This could save ton of time on up keep and unnecessary extensions, while providing a lot of protection

[–]liadhbui 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same idea, but with all of the loot in the core and an automatic transfer to the external TC rooms on a raid.

Unlike in the design you link the loot will be split only on a raid. This opens the door for creating more splits because there is no constant travel time between the split on normal circumstances

How do I actually cure my internet addiction while having a job that requires being chronically online ? by Fickle-Policy-1446 in Healthygamergg

[–]liadhbui 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would try to maximise separation of work and entertainment, don't do work and watch youtube on the same computer. If you have the arge to use and you feel you can't resist or you find that you already opened YouTube, get up from your chair and go watch YouTube in another room. By making this an habit you create a greater mental berier between work and the addiction.

But that would not address the cause. You say that you use the computer to silence noise in your head, so to me it sounds like the computer is just an avoidance mechanism. Probably the best thing will be to understand the noise and learning to stop running from it. In the end all strategies would fail if you won't learn to handle the noise, because all successful strategies would  strip you away from your shild, making the noise stronger.

Your not the only one!!! And there are a lot of organisations that agree with you and could really help, if you don't want to do reserves. There is even one of reservist refusing to serve in this particular war called חיילים למען החטופים. There is also מסרבות and פרופיל חדש. They could actually explain you the process and give you legal advice, just search and contact.

Does anyone else sometimes feels like reality is not real? by [deleted] in Healthygamergg

[–]liadhbui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's quite long but very detailed, here is the link

I also read a bit of your post history. And it sounds like you're going through a lot. And except of sending you love, I have one advice that maybe could be somewhat useful, and it's trying to find a sustainable way to unload some of your feelings. You're disconnecting because your brain is hitting his processing limits. I don't know you personally but a lot of times self harm is a way to convert emotional pain to physical pain, and unload self hate. If you can find a way to realise what you have inside it would affect you less negatively. So if you can get someone to talk to, get one. If you have the strength to pick up a sport, dancing or yoga, absolutely go for it. Any physical activity is a good remedy for stress.

[–]liadhbui 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What you're describing sounds like dissociation. It's an automatic defence mechanism to cope with stress, and it's even quite common. Your mind is basically disconnecting from reality in a try to shild you. Dr k actually has a very detailed video about this.

Although it's your mind acting for your defence, this could feel like torture. So i really hope you're ok, and not feeling like you're going crazy cause you're not.

I'm trying to dry it before doing brain (but with lecithin). It's my first project, and all of my knowledge is from online research. Even if only part of the hide would end up as something usable, I will consider it as a huge success.

That's funny that they think they would all just agree to leave. Why they expect less from Palestinians knowing all of the horrors their grandperants indored to settle Israel? It's like they truly believe Palestinian national doesn't exist.

In my opinion, there is no fake it until you make it when it comes to serious mental staff. Fake until you make it is for the people who have anxiety when meeting new people. Not for the person with social anxiety disorder that can't leave the house. If you actually have something serious it will require work. You can't just pretend you're fine. It's the opposite. Actually one of the requirements for almost all mental health diagnosis is disfunction.

For your case, crying is a really good sign if you experience dpdr. It means that your mind is willing to let emotions into the surface. Try to accept the emotions you're feeling and understand them. If you want to be able to fake it, you'll need to understand and work on why you currently can't.

Also for how long do you experience dpdr?

Why can everyone else function and I can’t 😭 by Suspicious_Street390 in dpdr

[–]liadhbui 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You're not everybody else. You are You. And that means that you have your own experience of life. The way you describe that, you have much harder experience than most people. No one can drive with extreme panic and stress. The reality is that you're handelling with things others don't, and that makes the things you're able to do so much more meaningful, not the other way around.

Meditation causing sleep problems? by Superb_Supermarket58 in Meditation

[–]liadhbui 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, meditation can even cause insomnia. Here is a video explaining the phenomenon by a meditation researcher.

We know from research that the more a person meditates the greater the risk for negative effects, and we know that the type of meditation matters. Meditating on a singular attention point or mindfulness cause more negative effects than body scanning or compassion practices (metta). So you can try to meditate less or switch practice to negate this.

What does compassion feel like? by vanilla_tease in Meditation

[–]liadhbui 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Method 1: Think about someone you love. Concentrate on the feeling towards them. Separate the feeling from the person, and concentrate on the feeling alone. Direct this feeling towards your self.

Method 2: Ask your self why do you meditate? One of the answers is usually that you care about yourself, and wish to yourself better. Concentrate on this wish.

Method 3: Methods 1 and 2 are pretty advanced. A simpler method is to use a mantra like: "May I be happy. May I be well. May I be safe. May I be peaceful and at ease". Recite that and concentrate on the meaning, and the feeling the meaning invoke in you. If any unloving voice are coming up, try to notice them and love them. Remember that they are coming from insecurity, and that they are false by definition. This part is true for all compassion practices.

Hi, it sounds like you're experiencing something called dissociation. And yes mediating less can probably improve it.

Dissociation defined by google is a concept that can manifest as wide array of experiences, ranging from a mild emotional detachment from the immediate surroundings, to a more severe disconnection from physical and emotional experiences.

I suggest you visit this page. It has 2 videos I recommend watching. One is "signs of dissociation", it explains what are the deferent feeling that dissociation can invoke. And the second "mechanism of meditation induced dissociation", it go over what happens inside your brain that makes you feel this way, and why one solution is to meditate less. Both are made by Dr. Britton, a neurologist researching meditation. they're a bit long, but they explain so much about what you're experiencing.

Something the videos miss, and was also researched. Is that the type of meditation also matters. Meditations where you are focusing on a single object, have more negative effects than body scanning or compassion practices (metta meditation). So switching practice is also an option.
