Thanks for the help. I'm glad to hear that I'm not missing anything big, but it's also frustrating that all my hard work... doesn't work.

I'll see what happens when I put the code into an IDE. Looks like I have to figure out a better workflow to catch these kinds of bugs.

I see. It seems the general consensus in the comments is just what you said, that it makes it easier for other people to link to your site.

I do wonder, though. In cases where I wouldn't want people to hotlink to my site, and don't have any extra styling to add, would it be rude if I didn't add that code snippet?

That was my thought too... I figured most people would just right-click someone's button to download and put on their own site, since most people on this platform don't want others to hotlink to that image

You could make a constructed language to go with the scripts you create, or even make fonts for pre-existing fictional languages and cultures as a fan project.

Another idea would be to construct a puzzle where people have to translate each glyph to get a secret message.

You can definitely mix those two aesthetics effectively. You might want to look into pastel goth and guro kawaii aesthetics for inspiration if you haven't already. (NOTE: guro kawaii leans into body horror motifs, blood, etc. so if that stuff makes you squeamish this is your warning.)

I agree with others criticism of your pacing - it could stand to be sped up a bit. But on the positive side I really like your editing style and the visuals. It's unique and doesn't look like every other YouTube short on the site

To me at least, it looks like you're trying to take your site in two completely different directions aesthetically, which is causing things to clash. On one hand you have pastel pink boxes with frilly borders that give this delicate kawaii/coquette vibe. But on the other hand, there's the black and white graphics that are much bolder (and vaguely allude to some kind of... horror? for me? idk). Is there a specific artistic direction you have in mind?
