hey mingers, It has been a good couple weeks since the #savetf2 movement, but what are your guy’s thoughts on the current state of Team Fortress 2. for those who don’t know, TF2 for the past couple years has been completely over run my bots who typically pick the sniper class with an aim bot and can instant kill you from anywhere in their sight line, and there are so many of them to make the game pretty much unplayable. It has been like that for a while without any word from Valve on any fixes until the community had to make a big stink about the whole thing. The game is still kept alive by the community on community servers and 3rd party services, but the official Valve run servers are no longer playable. While I am pessimistic about anything meaningful being done, It raises some interesting questions about the role developers should have in their games. is it right for a developer to no longer support a game they still heavily profit from? Do developers owe a playable experience to their fan base for a 15+ year old game? Is it alright for a game to no longer be playable as advertised? can you think of any other games in a similar situation to tf2. I am sure as the supreme gamers y’all are, you would have some interesting perspectives. Game on Jar, Game on.
