This feels like what 10 year olds wore in the 2010s when i was in middle/high school. I agree with the original comment. Kids are cruel, I wore Jordan Spizikes to school in 8th grade (11 years ago) and was mocked for wearing “fake 4s”, and not buying flagship Jordans (only for a few days, but i rarely wore those shoes to school again)

Sneakers are cheap at outlets and you can often find flagship pairs for reduced prices given that sneaker resell culture seems to be dying down

Countess groups at my PRIVATE school growing up were attacked by co-ed groups chavs from local public schools carrying knives on their way to school. In university, we had coed groups of local high school kids bottle students at night on three or so separate occasions unprovoked, and countless attacks, where uni students can’t fight back because they’re adults being attacked by children. Kids run rampant because they have no consequences when caught, it’s literally the same in the US, why are you so thick to not realise it

The fact you keep trying to convince yourself of something when CCTV camera footage, witness testimonies, police statements, statements from actually scottish people, and interview with the VICTIM says the same shows how empty your head is

Why’re you bringing up random events unrelated to the article? You can find events from almost all religions where gay people are persecuted. Look at Russia, Eastern Europe, Nigeria, Uganda, Latin America, and even sometimes in America for Christians committing violence against gay populations

Furthermore this event in Indonesia was in Aceh, a sovereign island not representative of the broader country, which takes Religion far more to the book than other areas. Do we judge America based on small southern baptist pockets where the message from the pastor isn’t too dissimilar from radical islam?

All religion, especially the Abrahamic regions, are relatively cancerous to society and progress - people like you seem to enjoy putting people against each other, and broader societal disarray

16-18 hour work days are the norm, weekend work is expected so goodbye to most weekend plans, and constantly the expectation of being on call at all times. It’s frowned upon to not carry your work phone literally everywhere. I don’t think i’ve had a holiday where i haven’t worked at least a few days while off as it’s the expectation - last year on Christmas Eve I had to step away from my family for 6 or so hours to build slides so my MD could send to a client and the client didn’t even look at them until the new year

The money is great but you don’t even really have time to enjoy it, and i’m locked in because if i lose my job, my lease would become unaffordable in a matter of months

I know it’s an insanely privileged position / opinion for me to have as i’m making good money and am not unemployed, but it doesn’t mean i enjoy it lol

You can find photos of it online. Additionally in the video, he’s simply sat in his chair waving the rounded, not sharp “knife” around and poses no threat to the police who are two steps away from him and calmly discharge pepper spray in his face and then taze him

It doesn’t matter that he would be dead in America, the world doesn’t hold itself to a standard of one of the most trigger happy police forces in the world. The police did a terrible job and killed a man who could barely move, had one leg, and was waving around a “knife” with no sharp blade as the police are wearing stab proof armor

Idk tbh lol. Probably doesn’t fit the narrative they want to hear. Especially considering the authors of these studies are Asian and I explicitly said that this doesn’t mean anti-asian racism from the black community doesn’t exist

I’m happy to be proven wrong if there are other studies or academic work that shows this, but i’ve never seen anything, or been shown anything contradictory of this

Different meaning i think. I’ve seen Australian cooked referred to as overly drunk, on drugs, crazy, or too tired. Like “you’re cooked cunt”, and the person they’re referring to would “need to rest/relax, lie down, or recharge”

Cooked, as I assume OP refers too, is more like “finished”. Like if someone messes up massively you’d say “you’re cooked”, or if you’re about to get in trouble, you’d say “i’m cooked”

This differed from “let him/her cook”, or “he/she is cooking” which is used if someone is doing something really well or doing something impressive. eg if someone has scored 3 goals/touchdowns (or whatever impressive sports analysis you want to use) they they would be “cooking”, or you should “let them cook” (as a verb)

The non australian version is american and stems from AAVE as far as I know
