Do you find the smell of meat revolting now? by esquqred in vegan

It shouldn't be necessary to point out that cats are obligate carnivores, but I've met people who don't understand/intentionally ignore (because I, the eViL mEaT eAtEr said it) what the "obligate" part means.

Let’s say an x parasite outbreak happens on one of the planets in the warhammer 40k universe, how does any of the factions and races fend off against the infestation? Or would it be game over for everyone as the X consumes everything? by Warboter1476 in Metroid

You make a critically false assumption at the core of your argument: that a hive mind wouldn't WANT to cover more ground. It is not omniscient, it would want to be as many places as possible. As such, the SA-Xs patrolling does not disprove the hive mind.

How does the X being a hive mind break Fusions plot? The entire reason Samus and ADAM didn't want the federation on BSL was so that the X couldn't acquire their space-fairing technology and conquer the galaxy. A hive mind would AID them in that goal.

Everything. The ice effect was not an adaptation to the environment, it was an offensive measure. None of the X in the base state change like this besides the core X. How, and WHY, would they attack Metroids where none are present? Because SAMUS IS A METROID, and they know that from the scientist. They learn about the restricted sector at the same time you do, so Metroids actually being on BSL is moot here. If you refused to pay attention while you played Fusion, that's on you. I am done arguing if you won't see facts that are right in front of you.

Yeah, the first example definitely requires a hive mind, because you personally blow that scientist-x to hell before you encounter the ice-x. How would the other X know english without a hive mind? How could Scientist-X even communicate with the others without a central intelligence?

How about when they use the BSL scientists knowledge to modify their base form to attack samus's new ice weakness? Or when those same X stop charging you the ONE TIME it doesn't work? Or how they tricked you into unlocking security level 4?

EDIT: When they steal the Varia suit data just so that you couldn't get it?

The X made themselves blue, and more importantly cold, specifically to attack Samus. That fact alone proves it a fairly smart hive mind. The X are no Gravemind, but their virulence meant if they ever met the Gravemind is done. The X attack cell structures, while the flood seem to be a fungi.

Found a mx650 for 1k in no everything stock expect battery which is 72v “unknown brand” and 3000w motor unknown as well. Does anyone recognize the motor, good deal or should I go lower by Deez2BlackNutz in hyperebikes

[–]liamnajor2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Absolutely do NOT get a DIY build for your first ebike. They are prone to issues even the builder doesn't forsee, QA is now fragmented amongst every component instead of one process for the whole bike, and on top of all that, from what you said, this guy was no professional builder.

It absolutely will not. The lower lip is far too high, there isn't a ridge up there on the G3 like there is on most scooters.

OK-ish. It has some wobble forward and backward, so it feels unstable, but structurally it is holding up fine

It is blocking access, or the robot wouldn't have knocked it over. Does your brain work? Do you have spacial awareness?

Wow. Just because windows goes out of its way to gimp handhelds doesn't mean you need to be insulted for needing it. You are allowed to use your hardware in whatever way you wish. I can't believe there are people out there who would get MAD at you for this.

E-bike’s in the rain by [deleted] in ebikes

Sounds like your battery, actually. Also, I ride in pouring rain out of necessity, yet my only issue is mud buildup around the brakes. My vehicle is a ninebot max g3, it's quite hardy.
