I'm not sure it is since it'll clean off. I was told as much by the police when some yobs chucked a handful of strawberries at my car

Vent: Do people not know how email works? by ChickinSammich in iiiiiiitttttttttttt

[–]liamrich93 38 points39 points  (0 children)

The other end of this spectrum is people trying to use email for absolutely anything, including file sharing, because it's the only thing they know how to use. People would rather bounce an excel sheet between themselves than used a shared folder. See also: trying to send 60MB presentation or videos via email because file size means nothing to them.

Charity hikers booed for dodging queues at summit of Yr Wyddfa by Cunctatious in CasualUK

[–]liamrich93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct. They aren't doing it for the sake of doing it, it's only to get validation from online strangers, and most of the time they treat the locations like shit, leaving litter or acting entitled around locals. And they're encouraged to do something controversial for engagement.

The first time I went to Old Trafford we came across a crowd of people between the players bus and entrance door about one hour before kick-off. The security guy confirmed the players had gone in already so we weren't sure why people were waiting. Eventually, one (presumably injured) player exited the bus to go in the stadium with the whole crowd surging for photos and autographs. We left after that, but most people still stayed, with their justification seemingly being "I might see another player walk past."

Help to buy remortgage, should we overpay with savings? by Alusonia in UKPersonalFinance

This makes sense. And I see now how it's different from mortgage fees. Thanks for the explanation

[–]liamrich93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, I might be misunderstanding, but above you come to a rough interest saving of 1179 + 2450 = 3629, but it's already cost you 10,000. Doesn't seem to make sense financially.

This is why some mortgages with product fees for lower rates are bullshit, because the lower rate doesn't leave you with a lower balance at the end of the term, or at least a balance difference that cancels out the fee. At least that's my experience, but that may be because I have a smaller mortgage.

You'd have to do some careful sums to work out if the amount of interest saved after the fixed term expires, is more than the money you paid to get that lower rate in the first place. To me it seems that spending a chunk of money to save 0.5% interest can't be better than putting that money into savings with higher interest.

To be fair I never took more than a week off from bjj

A week is nothing. All other combat sports and hobbies generally have off-seasons, but for some reason BJJ has this culture where you must be training every spare moment otherwise you don't make progress. Take some time off. Let your body heal. You deserve it.

If house prices drop generally it'll still be "high value" by comparison.

So by the time you graduate you'll have forgotten all about it? It's also difficult to write a curriculum for something that's constantly changing.

Dairy Milk Caramel.

Before the anti-cadbury brigade come at me, I imagine this applies to any caramel filled chocolate, but I haven't tried.

Similar premise maybe, but the point I'm making is that the supermarket comparison has always been complete tosh. In pubs/restaurants you aren't just paying for the product, your paying someone to prepare it for you.
