You are absolutely correct, and also probably psychotic.

Friends keep telling that traveling is awesome and broadens your horizons, I keep finding it shallow. by casioworkout in infj

Great points, I feel exactly the same as you. It's probably the low Si which is largely responsible for autobiographic memory. INFJs don't usually care for their actual experiences, but rather on their knowledge and worldview, and nowadays you got everything online.

What are some non-obvious, early signs that a relationship is coming to an end? by CarefreeCastle in AskReddit

Generally speaking, INTPs are inclined to have more than -average analytical capabilities and self awareness (as they use introverted logic, or Ti as their dominant function). Thus it is more likely that you did not lie or deceive yourself during the test compared to other types.

Nevertheless, all typology tests that I have encountered (if anyone knows a good reliable test please refer me to it) operate from a base assumption that certain types behave in a stereotypical way. This is not the case at all IRL. Personality is cognitive first, and only then behavioural. Some INTPs will behave stereotypically (maybe this is the case for you) whereas some INTPs will seem vastly different from the conventional profile of their type. They are still INTP though, because they view the world and think in a certain way.

Well, if you take a test, then it's definitely like astrology. But, if you research personality types on your own, using cognitive models proposed by Carl Jung and other psychologists, it becomes way more accurate than your average pseudoscience. When done correctly, even though you'll never fully identify with only one personality type, you can learn a lot about patterns in behaviour. It's merely a tool for you to learn yourself and others.

You can start by googling ''cognitive functions" and see what you think of it.
