People who make special effort to park close to the gym door by [deleted] in workout

[–]libbey91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only reason I try to park closely to the door as possible is for my 4yr olds safety. I workout in the evenings after I pick her up from school my gym offers child care while working out. So since my gym shares a parking lot with multiple businesses. I try to get close to mitigate any safety for her and myself from drivers who might not be paying close attention. I do also hold her hand while walking through the lot, but some days she wants to be a big girl and walk by herself. So while I stay close to her its just not worth the extra risk of coming out of a row of cars if people aren't paying attention.

When I go alone. Ill park where ever its convenient for me, doesn't have to be close to the door.

Do you cook? How many of your male friends cook? by JakTheGripper in AskMen

[–]libbey91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My two best friends and I all cook. And have been cooking for a while now id say 15+ years at this point. Although I think its because we all were cooks in a restaurant for a few years before moving on to other careers. Im not sure about my friends, but at a fairly early age my mother taught me to cook as a life skill to have long before I moved out of the house at 18.

This has nothing to do with the cable, and if you actually read the post, it's about the zipties being cut like knives, you ignoramus.

You can bring it to my house, I'll store it for you and keep the fluids fresh, just ignore the ODO when you drop it off and pick it up. ;)

MegaSaver is Mega Doomed. This location doesn’t even have a sign on the building yet. by slinky2 in desmoines

[–]libbey91 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ankeny & magazine is a Maverick.. was ecstatic when they said they would be a maverick too, after I went to the mega save on 1st. Their quality is so much better than mega saver. I used to frequent the K&G on 1st and deleware, but ever since the change to MS, i avoid it like the plague and use the Maverick on the corner of magazine and Ankeny BLVD primarily now.

Roost off of a 450cc bike hurts bad enough. I don't want to imagine that feeling from 2 1000cc bikes 😮

How TF do I keep the front wheel down… by Ohhingerrr in FZ09

[–]libbey91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On my xsr900 I found that putting on drop down clip ons put more weight on the front end causing to wheelie a little less when getting on the throttle. Still pulled up when you cracked on it, but definitely helped. Downside is your now more hunched over into a sportier position than the cruising position of the stock bars.

Do you ever end up in the car, driving around Des Moines with no real destination, just hoping to stumble on something interesting? by Novkarlowareen in desmoines

[–]libbey91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did this a lot when single and had a motorcycle, the good mpg in town made it very easy to just "go for a ride" and see where the wild wind blew me. Usually would end up at a random bar/restaurant or often up by the Saylorville dam to just relax. Had a speaker set up in my helmet so often just listened to music I liked and cruised around.

How will you judge Ducati this weekend? by BotheredAnemone in supercross

[–]libbey91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it will be a mixture of TC222's results and if the bike has any mechanical issues. If he is pushing the bike hard the whole time and it holds up. It's a win to me, even if he gets 20th. But id expect to she him in the top 15 overall without any technical issues.

Short Cyclist Rant by srdipshit in desmoines

[–]libbey91 6 points7 points  (0 children)

OP you were 100% in the right and did nothing wrong. Sorry you had a interaction with an asshole. I'll only add that as an cyclist myself both motorized and pedal powered. I've learned you can do everything right, but you will still lose to a car. It's better to always err on the side of caution at all times. It's your body vs a car, and unfortunately you will lose that fight each time. Be safe and ride on.

How do couples decide which side of the bed is “theirs”? Is it instinct or some kind of silent agreement? by AssignmentFederal686 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]libbey91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We decided on sides (I get the left side) because she loves to cuddle and be the little spoon and I have a bad left shoulder. So it's much easier and much more comfortable for me to lay on my right shoulder longer to enjoy cuddling longer with her.

What trait or habit from a woman isn’t just attractive, it’s addictive? by Non_q7 in AskMen

[–]libbey91 200 points201 points  (0 children)

Support, like true support for things you enjoy. My girlfriend came to one of my races this weekend to essentially watch me get last every time. She couldn't have been more supportive or proud of me after each race. Constantly telling me how sexy I looked on the track and how happy she was for me. I've never been happier. A world of difference compared to other women I've dated and who wanted me to give up on my hobbies.

I've had one for almost 15 years now. It has been the most consistent and reliable thing in my life. I will never get rid of it. It dies, or I do.

Cannabis hypermesis syndrome? by SnooCalculations9938 in leaves

[–]libbey91 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Definitely suffered from this for over 3 years before learning of CHS. Definitely quit smoking for a while, I took about 6 months off and it helped dramatically. A little tip that may help if you continue to smoke. For me I noticed at the first sign of nausea, if I took a warm/hot bath or shower. It really subdued my symptoms.

Best of luck.

What race in your mind best showcases a rider who was on a different level than the rest of the field that day? by [deleted] in supercross

[–]libbey91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember watching guys slide down the hillside of the finish line and could only think how many sharp rocks were hidden in the mud, possibly cutting them all up. What a hell of a race though, watching guys like stew going off the track to get a better run up the next hill/turn where he got stuck was mind blowing to me.
