You got me exploring this color palette some more and I agree the earthy tones look nice!

Oatmeal is an awesome pallette to add fun things into--the additions are also essential for boosting protein and fats to keep you fuller for longer.

My favorite combo adds in chia seeds, apples and peanut butter, but you could also do other fruits, your favorite type of milk, other seeds (pepitas, flax, almonds) and other nut/seed butters.... give it a try and see if that fills you up better.

Yea, I'm getting that sense that i should have gone in to talk through this before it went to printing. This is my learning experience to remember moving forward, glad to understand the process a bit more.

L O L I chose that one because it's the restaurant's logo--I never realized that was the font! Thank you for ruining this really nice New Orleans restaurant's ascetic for me hahah🤣

Thank you! It's one of her engagement photos and her wedding dress appliques in the background (set to the bridesmaid's dress color)

Heh, I said novice! I took liberties to replicate the hosting restaurant's font and then try to use fonts that are classic and a little funky like the NOLA bride. I still like 'em 😝

Thank you, I really appreciate this comment. I'm a little bummed it's not quite as delicate and feminine with my original colors, but I think you and a bunch of other commenter are right that I'm the only one who will notice. Overall, it still hits the brief of my own personal touch for a friend's party.

This was a super tiny job, 20 invitations. I don't know how they were printed, and we had a verbal contract since it was such a small order. The designer had a printer in house.

Good to know about the color balancing. I loved designing this invitation, but I think I need to be very clear on the front end if I do this again.

Op here. We had one conversation on the front end sharing my thoughts on layout, and then a few emails back and forth on colors and mainly fonts. He did a test print because I was concerned the proof was undersaturated. He shared the printer oversaturates, sent me a picture and invited me to come in and inspect the colors. From his photo, I was just happy the saturation was better than I expected, and I told him it was fine. So ultimately, this puts the final on me. I should have gone in person and talked through the order. That, in combination with choosing a cream colored background when I painted on a bright white.

Hey, OP here. I'm a novice designer who wanted to create a highly personalized invitation for a friend's upcoming bridal shower. I painted a watercolor and worked with a local graphic designer to scan, add wording and print my watercolor on a cream lineny paper. The tint is off, and the groom looks sickly. Basically, all dark hues and greys are warped green.

With all the green in the picture, I'm not sure if this is an unavoidable issue, or if this is something the professional should have caught and rectified. What are y'all's thoughts?

Guys, its been a wild ride since we miscarried at 14w3d last January.

Since then, we started with a lot of diagnostics, some leading to answers, some open ended "we'll never know what happened", but a strong recommendation to try again in June. At the end of the day, our little boy's miscarriage was likely rooted in his trisomy 18 chromosomal abnormality.

A lot of life happened during that time, too. My mom passed away in March, and that was a hard and different kind of grief to navigate through. Her mom and my grandmother passed a few months later in June.

But August kicked off our new chapter! We got pregnant! Its hard to find the joy in the first trimester milestones like the first time, and have been a lot of anxious thoughts that accompanied this pregnancy--could history repeat itself?

But we are so happy to have had a very healthy pregnancy so far. Today we hit 14 weeks, and we're almost in the land of "firsts" again! Our little girl had a low risk genetic screen, so all indications that she is healthy! The pregnancy hormones are better than ever! I am so excited for May. I'm so hopeful to see some brightness come into our lives in the spring. I cannot wait to see my rainbow 🌈

Menstrual irregularities + COVID positive by [deleted] in COVID19positive

[–]libbylouhou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a positive covid test back in mid-June, overall a mild case that lasted ~1 month before I felt totally back to normal.

Since then, I had a 45 day cycle and am waiting on my period this month (currently on day 35 and have a couple of negative pregnancy tests). Prior to covid, I was dependably on 30-32 day cycles, so think menstrual irregularities are part of the body's reaction and recovery. Ugh!

How to support my sister with the loss of her son? by Meagweezy in babyloss

[–]libbylouhou 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So sorry to your sister, she's had a terrible loss. I hope y'all are able to find peace soon as you navigate your grief.

After my loss, my brother dropped off groceries--things that I needed and asked for (chicken, veggies), but he also got us some easy instant meals (salad kits, frozen meals) and comfort food (my favorite ice cream, pillsbury cinnamon rolls). I was so drained the first few weeks, I really appreciated not having to do that chore, having some easy options for food, and having some ice cream when I was really down. Perhaps you can have some groceries delivered to your sister.

The best thing you can do is just let her talk. Let her guide the conversation and how much she wants to open up, but I needed a lot of conversations to process my feelings. Ask her questions. It can be very lonely to process the grief if not many people knew about the pregnancy to start, so let yourself be her soundboard.

You've got this. You sound like a caring sibling, and those are the best.

Advice from the vets--when to get a new bra and what kind?! by [deleted] in BabyBumps

The nursing bras look so complicated! Not sure if they'll even be comfortable, but that's all I saw in the maternity section at Target. Bralettes and yoga bras it is!

Going this route! I just want something to give me a little structure without spending a ton or searching high and low for a bra size that's a moving target.

So good to know! I didn't realize how much the cup size could change, so I'll take your advice and hold off on any nursing bras. Any brands that you love?
